The legacy of that shield is complicated.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was originally supposed to be the first Marvel series on Disney+ but due to the delays and the reshoots, it was pushed indefinitely and until Disney Investors Day, fans didn’t even get a sneak peek for the series, there was only a 30-second montage scene of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, WandaVision, at the 2020 Super Bowl, but now we have a full official trailer for the upcoming series.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier – What it is about?

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will revolve around the two best supporting characters from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, first Anthony Mackie‘s Sam Wilson aka Falcon and Sebastian Stan‘s Buchanan Barnes (Bucky) aka the Winter Soldier. The series will be set in the post Avengers: Endgame world where Avengers have reversed the snap and brought every one back.

As we saw at the end of Avengers: Endgame Steve Rogers aka Captain America gave his title and his shield to Sam, so we will see in the series Sam dealing with his new responsibilities or if he even wants them, but we also know that the American government is not to thrilled about the prospect of Sam being the new Captain America as they are recruiting John Walker aka U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell) to take on the mantel of Captain America.

At the end of Black Panther we saw Bucky heading in the direction of becoming the White Wolf, so we can expect some kind of story arc in that direction.

One of the finest Marvel villain is no doubt Baron Zemo (Daniel BrĂĽhl) who will probably be the main antagonist of the series, and will appear in the same famous purple mask as his comics counterpart. We will have to wait to see if he also became dust during the snap or was he alone for five years before Avengers reversed the snap.

Emily VanCamp‘s Sharon Carter will also be joining the series, she is apparently on the run because she broke the Sokovia accord and brought Captain America his shield and Sam his wings. How she will fit into the story is yet to know.
