The sci-fi comedy series Resident Alien has been renewed for a second season. Alan Tudyk will return in his role of Dr. Harry Vanderspeigel/Alien, after the shocking cliffhanger ending of the first season fans are wondering what will happen next, and thankfully all of those questions will be answered because Syfy has renewed the beloved series for a second season.
Resident Alien – Plot?
Based on the comic series of the same name Resident Alien follows an extraterrestrial, who comes to earth to destroy all human life, but after he lives on the earth for sometime he has a few doubts.
The official synopsis for Resident Alien is:
“An alien crash lands on Earth and must pass himself off as small-town human doctor Harry Vanderspeigle. Arriving with a secret mission to kill all humans, Harry starts off living a simple life…but things get a bit rocky when he’s roped into solving a local murder and realizes he needs to assimilate into his new world.“

Resident Alien Season 2 – Release Date?
Syfy renewed Resident Alien Season 2 even before the season finale aired on March 31. In an interview with the TV Insider, series creator Chris Sheridan said season 1 would have taken roughly six or seven months to make if the pandemic hadn’t shut them down.
If we take the time frame into consideration, at best Resident Alien Season 2 will air in late 2021, or in early 2022 which is more probable.
Resident Alien Season 2 – Cast?
Most of the cast of Season 1 will probably return for Resident Alien Season 2, because all of the town folks and the government agents survived the finale. The government agents hunting the Alien will probably have a bigger role in Season 2. There have been no new announcements about the cast of Season 2 yet.

If you have seen the Season 1 finale, you know that at the end Harry changes his mind about killing all of the humanity and flies back into the space but Max hides in his spaceship, so he will have to return to earth even if he doesn’t want to and the government agents will probably have a much larger role to play in the upcoming season. There is also one more question and it is that why did human Harry Vanderspeigel killed the town doctor so they will probably answer that also.
