The upcoming Disney+ Star Wars limited series titled Star Wars: Ashoka has cast Ivanna Sakhno opposite Rosario Dawson and Natasha Liu Bordizzo, revealed by Deadline. The limited Star Wars series is the spinoff of the hit Disney+ series The Mandalorian.
Star Wars: Ashoka stars Dawson as Ashoka Tano from Star Wars: Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels, after making her live-action debut in The Mandalorian and Bordizzo will be taking on the role of Sabine Wren, who first appeared in Star Wars: Rebels the animated series. Sakhno will be playing a new character.
The Disney+ series is written and executive produced by Dave Filoni alongside Jon Favreau, who is also an executive producer on the series. Star Wars: Ashoka is supposed to start production in March 2022 and an appearance of Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) is also expected.
Sakhno has previously worked in shows and movies like Hulu’s High Fidelity, Pacific Rim: Uprising, and The Spy Who Dumped Me.
A release date for Star Wars: Ashoka has not been announced yet, but it is expected to drop some time on Disney+ in 2023.
