Alan Ritchson is all set to be back as everybody’s favorite buff vagabond. After the successful first of Reacher back in February 2022, the fans were happy to hear that Prime Video has renewed the series for a second season. Based on a book series by Lee Child, the Prime Video series has great casting, great action, and to top it all a thrilling story that garnered praise from both the audience and the critics. So, let’s talk about everything we know about the upcoming season of Reacher so far.
Reacher Season 2 – What Is It About?
The Prime Video series based its first season of Reacher on Lee Child‘s debut book titled Killing Floor. But for the second season, the creators are adapting the 11th book in the series titled Bad Luck and Trouble. While the series creator Nick Santora‘s choice of skipping 10 books ahead is a bit of a head-scratcher, the source material is anything but brilliant. Check out the synopsis for the book below:

While some casting information about the series suggests that the series will follow the book closely, just like the first season expect some significant differences.
Reacher Season 2 – Who Is In It?
The main concept of the books and the series is that Reacher doesn’t stay in one place and because of that we are going to see many new faces in every season. While we still haven’t figured out who everyone is going to play in the upcoming season we probably do have a full casting list of every actor joining the series in Reacher Season 2.
Obviously, Alan Ritchson will be back as Jack Reacher, and returning with him will be Maria Sten, who played the role of Reacher’s former colleague named Frances Neagley in Season 1. The new series regulars for Season 2 are Rory Cochrane (A Scanner Darkly) as Shane Langston, Ferdinand Kingsley (Silo) as A.M., Serinda Swan (Coroner) as Karla Dixon, Shaun Sipos (Krypton) as David O’Donnell.
The guest stars joining the series in Season 2 are Al Sapienza (The Sopranos), Domenick Lombardozzi (The Wire), Luke Bilyk (Degrassi The Next Generation), Dean McKenzie (Gracepoint), Edsson Morales (Black Summer), Andrés Collantes (A Million Little Things), Shannon Kook (Degrassi The Next Generation), Ty Olsson (Slasher), and Josh Blacker (See).

So, the filming of Season 2 officially wrapped up in February 2023, which means that Reacher Season 2 is currently in post-production and will soon be ready to come out.
Reacher Season 2 – Will the Strikes Affect the Release Date?
No. The ongoing SAG-AFTRA and the Writer’s strike will not affect the release date of Reacher Season 2, as it completed its production almost four months before the strikes even began. But if the strike goes on long enough and Prime Video renews the series for a third season it will affect the release date of Reacher Season 3. So, hope that the writer and the actors get everything that they want the strike concludes as soon as possible so that you don’t have to wait for your favorite shows to be on air again.
Reacher Season 2 – When Is It Coming Out?
According to a recently released YouTube video by Prime Video, which contains a sizzle reel of almost every big series coming to the streaming service in 2023, Reacher Season 2 is all set to debut on Prime Video in December 2023, the clip also gives us our first look at the upcoming season.
