The first season of the beloved Apple TV+ comedy Ted Lasso was nominated for Golden Globe, and it took the viewers by storm. Jason Sudeikis hypnotic portrayal of the fun, loving, and optimistic Ted Lasso was the comedy that everybody needed last year, and Apple TV+ agreed that’s why they renewed the series for not only a second season but a third one also, but according to the series co-creator Bill Lawrence the third season of Ted Lasso will be it’s last.

Ted Lasso is a comedy series, starring Jason Sudeikis in the title role, and it tells the story of an American football coach who goes to England to coach a professional Soccer team.

The official synopsis of the series is:

Jason Sudeikis plays Ted Lasso, a small-time college football coach from Kansas hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer.

In a January Podcast episode, series co-creator Bill Lawrence said that the series star Jason Sudeikis has a masterplan for his character’s arc: “He’s kind of mapping it out, it’s a three-season show.” But Lawrence wasn’t too pumped about the fact and immediately started to backtrack and started daydreaming as to how he can convince Sudeikis to stay longer and make more seasons of Ted Lasso.

“After the third season, I will desperately try to get Mr. Sudeikis to do a…” Lawrence started. “The only way I think a fourth season of Ted Lasso exists would be if TL went and coached a soccer team that played about a block from Jason’s house in real life, you know what I mean? He’s got young kids.”

The first season of the series was very much loved, getting critical praise and getting nominated for awards, and it gave the audience what they needed last year, optimism. Ted Lasso Season 2 is expected to come in summer this year, and it will have twelve episodes, unlike the previous season which had ten episodes, according to the series co-star Juno Temple the decision was made because the creators felt that the story needs to unfold more slowly.

What is in the future Ted Lasso, that’s the question that only future will tell until then enjoy Ted Lasso Season 1.
