Netflix is ready with an entertainment-packed July this year. Yellowjackets Season 2 (July 1)
Yellowjackets is a psychological mystery horror survival thriller series co-created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson. Season 2 of the Showtime series continues the story of the girls’ soccer team, who have survived the summer in the wilderness, but will they be able to survive the upcoming winter? The Old Guard 2 (July 2)
The Old Guard 2 is an upcoming fantasy action thriller film directed by Victoria Mahoney from a screenplay by Greg Rucka. Based on the comic book of the same name by Rucka and Leandro Fernández, the upcoming sequel film follows Andy, who is struggling after losing her immortality, and takes on the fight with her group of immortals after the first immortal threatens to destroy the world. The Old Guard 2 stars Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Matthias Schoenaerts, Vân Veronica Ngô, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Uma Thurman, and Henry Golding.
Mr. Robot Seasons 1-4 (July 3)
Mr. Robot is a psychological thriller drama series created by Sam Esmail. The USA Network series follows Elliot Alderson, a mentally troubled cybersecurity engineer and hacker who works with a group of anarchist hackers to take down the people who control the world from the shadows. Mr. Robot stars Rami Malek, Carly Chaikin, Portia Doubleday, Martin Wallström, Christian Slater, Michael Cristofer, Stephanie Corneliussen, and Grace Gummer.
The Sandman Season 2 Vol. 1 (July 3), Vol. 2 (July 24), & Vol. 3 (July 31)
The Sandman is a fantasy drama series created by Neil Gaiman, David S. Goyer, and Allan Heinberg. Based on the DC Comics comic book of the same name by Gaiman, Sam Keith, and Mike Dringenberg, the upcoming second and final season of the series follows Lord Morpheus, aka Dream, as his past misdeeds come to haunt him once again after a fateful reunion with his siblings. The Sandman stars Tom Sturridge, Boyd Holbrook, Vivienne Acheampong, and Patton Oswalt.
Sullivan’s Crossing Seasons 1-2 (July 8)
Sullivan’s Crossing is a Canadian romantic drama series created by Roma Roth. Based on the novel series of the same name by Robyn Carr, the CTV series follows Maggie Sullivan, a neurosurgeon, as she returns to her hometown, where she reconnects with her estranged father and falls in love with the town again. Sullivan’s Crossing stars Morgan Kohan, Chad Michael Murray, Tom Jackson, Andrea Menard, and Scott Patterson.
The Gringo Hunters Season 1 (July 9)
The Gringo Hunters is an upcoming Mexican crime drama series. Based on The Washington Post article by Kevin Sieff, the Netflix series follows an elite Mexican police unit who are assigned to hunt down fugitives coming to Mexico. The Gringo Hunter stars Manuel Masalva, Hector Kotsifakis, Andrew Leland Rogers, Sebastian Roché, Jessica Lindsey, Clayton Conroy, Dean Simone, and Dale Carley.
Brick (July 10)
Brick is an upcoming German sci-fi mystery thriller film written and directed by Philip Koch. The Netflix film follows a young couple who get trapped in their apartment when suddenly their apartment is surrounded by mysterious, undestructible black bricks. Brick stars Matthias Schweighofer, Ruby O. Fee, and Frederick Lau.
Too Much Season 1 (July 10)
Too Much is an upcoming British comedy series co-created by Lena Dunham and Luis Felber. The Netflix series follows Jessica as she moves from New York to London after a disastrous breakup to start over. Too Much stars Megan Stalter, Will Sharpe, Emily Ratajkowski, Richard E. Grant, and Adwoa Aboah.
Almost Cops (July 11)
Almost Cops is an upcoming Dutch buddy cop crime comedy film directed by Gonzalo Fernández Carmona from a screenplay co-written by Thomas van der Ree, Joost Reijmers, and Kenneth Asporaat. The Netflix film follows a special investigator as he is forced to team up with a reckless demoted detective to find a killer. Almost Cops stars Jandino Asporaat, Werner Kolf, Mark Rietman, Florence Vos Weeda, Juliette van Ardenne, Ferdi Stofmeel, and Teun Kuilboer.
Untamed Season 1 (July 17)
Untamed is an upcoming murder mystery series co-created by Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith. The Netflix series is set in Yosemite National Park, and it follows National Park Service Special Agent Kyle Turner as he investigates a brutal murder that soon becomes connected to his own dark past. Untamed stars Eric Bana, Sam Neill, Wilson Bethel, Lily Santiago, and Rosemarie DeWitt.
The Hunting Wives Season 1 (July 21)
The Hunting Wives is an upcoming drama series created by Rebecca Cutter. Based on the 2021 novel of the same name by May Cobb, the Netflix series follows Sophie O’Neil as she moves to a deep East Texas town with her family and soon becomes obsessed with the lifestyle of socialite, Margo Banks. The Hunting Wives stars Malin Akerman, Brittany Snow, Dermot Mulroney, Evan Jonigkeit, Chrissy Metz, Jamie Ray Newman, Katie Lowes, and George Ferrier.
Happy Gilmore 2 (July 25)
Happy Gilmore 2 is an upcoming sports comedy film directed by Kyle Newacheck from a screenplay co-written by Tim Herlihy and Adam Sandler. The 2025 legacy sequel film is set thirty years after the events of the first film, and it follows a now-retired Happy Gilmore who returns to the game to pay for his daughter’s ballet school. Happy Gilmore 2 stars Sandler, Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, Benny Safdie, Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, Margaret Qualley, and Ben Stiller.
Leanne Season 1 (July 31)
Leanne is an upcoming sitcom series co-created by Susan McMartin, Chuck Lorre, and Leanne Morgan. The Netflix series will follow the titular character Leanne as her marriage of 33 years comes to an end when her husband leaves her for another woman. Now she must start over as a grandmother with the help of her friends. Leanne stars Leanne Morgan, Kristen Johnston, Celia Weston, Blake Clark, Ryan Stiles, Graham Rogers, and Hannah Pilkes.
