The Insider is a biographical drama film directed by Michael Mann, who also co-wrote the film with Eric Roth. Based on the 1996 Vanity Fair article titled The Man Who Knew Too Much by Marie Brenner, the 1999 film revolves around the controversial 60 Minutes segment featuring Jeffrey Wigand, who shed light on the dark truth about the tobacco industry.
