If you were looking forward to Taylor Sheridan‘s new series, The Madison, then we have some good news for you. The Madison co-lead, Kurt Russell, confirmed that Season 2 of the upcoming Paramount+ series has already been filmed despite no official announcement of a Season 2 renewal.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Russell said that The Madison’s production schedule conflicted with his work on Apple TV’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. So the people behind the Paramount+ series had to get creative so Russell could play Preston Clyburn.
Russell said that “I did the second season of Monarch [Legacy of Monsters], the Apple TV show, and unfortunately for me, the timing was when Madison came around, and I said, ‘There’s just no way to do it,’ because I was working on this show.”
According to Russell, the solution came in form of the duo of Sheridan and Michelle Pfeiffer as Russell explained that they “were able to get together with the people at Paramount+ and said, ‘Well, let’s do two seasons instead of just one, and then before we start the second season next year, instead of doing that, we will start with Kurt’s stuff. We really do want him to play the guy. And we’ll get his first season out of the way first, and jam all that in there, and then go into the second season and do that.’ And so we were able to do that.”

How Many More ‘Yellowstone’ Spin-offs are in the Works?

Marshals (previously titled Y: Marshals) is an upcoming CBS series in which Luke Grimes will return as Kayce Dutton. In the series, Kayce will join an elite unit of U.S. Marshals to serve as the last line of defense alongside his colleagues. Kayce struggles to balance his new job with caring for his family. Marshals is all set to premiere on CBS on March 1, 2026.
Dutton Ranch (working title) is an upcoming series focusing on Beth and Rip’s relationship after the events of Yellowstone. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser will return to reprise their respective roles. Dutton Ranch will also star Ed Harris, Jai Courtney, Annette Bening, and Finn Little.
1944 is another Yellowstone prequel series like 1883 and 1923. While the series has been officially announced, not much else has been shared about it.
6666 is another Yellowstone spin-off, but unlike the previously mentioned shows, this one is currently on hold because of Sheridan’s purchase of the property where the series was supposed to film. 6666 stars Yellowstone actor Jefferson White, who played Jimmy Hurdstrom in the original series.
