Peacock is ready with an entertainment-packed July this year. The upcoming month will see the release of the much-anticipated return of the post-apocalyptic action comedy series Twisted Metal, as well as the streaming release of the new thriller film Drop. Just like every month, Peacock is ready to overload you with great content. So, we’re here to tell you about the five new movies and TV shows coming to Peacock in July 2025.
Drop (July 11)

Drop is a thriller drama film directed by Christopher Landon from a screenplay co-written by Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach. The 2025 film follows Violet Gates, a widowed single mother who goes out on a date but soon begins receiving messages to kill the man sitting beside her, or someone will kill her son at home. Drop stars Meghann Fahy, Brandon Sklenar, Violett Beane, and Jeffery Self.
Violent Night (July 20)

Violent Night is a Christmas action comedy film directed by Tommy Wirkola from a screenplay co-written by Pat Casey and John Miller. The 2022 film follows Santa Claus as he must face a group of lethal mercenaries who have taken a dysfunctional wealthy hostage in their own home. Violent Night stars David Harbour, John Leguizamo, Alex Hassell, Alexis Louder, and Beverly D’Angelo.
Rizzoli & Isles Seasons 1-7 (July 21)

Rizzoli & Isles is a police procedural crime drama series developed by Janet Tamaro. Based on the novel series of the same name by Tess Gerritsen, the TNT series is set in Boston and revolves around homicide detective Jane Rizzoli, who teams up with the Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Maura Isles to solve complex criminal cases. Rizzoli & Isles stars Angie Harmon, Sasha Alexander, Jordan Bridges, Lee Thompson Young, Bruce McGill, Lorraine Bracco, Brian Goodman, Idara Victor, and Adam Sinclair.
Tár (July 27)

Tár is a psychological drama film written and directed by Todd Field. The 2022 film follows Lydia Tár, a world-renowned conductor who is also the first female director of a major German orchestra, as her carefully created life comes crumbling down after she is accused of misconduct. Tár stars Cate Blanchett, Noémie Merlant, Adam Gopnik, Marc-Martin Straub, Egon Brandstetter, Ylva Pollak, Paula Först, Sylvia Flote, Sydney Lemmon, Mark Strong, and Nicholas Hopchet.
Twisted Metal Season 2 (July 31)

Twisted Metal is a post-apocalyptic action comedy series developed by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Michael Jonathan Smith. Based on the video game franchise of the same name developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the upcoming Season 2 of the Peacock series will finally lean towards the thing fans loved about the game – bloody vehicular combats. Twisted Metal stars Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, and Will Arnett.
