This September, we are getting a ton of content on streaming from the much-anticipated new seasons of Slow Horses and Only Murders in the Building. This upcoming month will see the release of many great movies on streaming, so we thought of compiling a list of all the must-watch movies that are coming straight to streaming.
Winter Spring Summer or Fall (September 1) – Paramount+
Winter Spring Summer or Fall is a teen romantic drama film directed by Tiffany Paulsen from a screenplay by Dan Schoffer. The 2024 film follows Remi Aguilar, a teenage girl who has planned out her life after high school in excruciating detail, but things take a sharp turn when she meets and falls for Barnes Hawthorne, a free-spirited boy. Winter Spring Summer or Fall stars Jenna Ortega, Percy Hynes White, Marisol Nichols, Elias Kacavas, Adam Rodriguez, and Jacqueline Emerson.
Lilo & Stitch (September 3) – Disney+
Lilo & Stitch is a sci-fi family comedy film directed by Dean Fleischer Camp from a screenplay co-written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes. Based on the media franchise of the same name, the 2025 film follows Lilo, a lonely Hawaiian girl who befriends Stitch, a chaotic little alien. Lilo & Stitch stars Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Hannah Waddingham, Chris Sanders, Courtney B. Vance, Zach Galifianakis, and Maia Kealoha.
A Working Man (September 3) – Prime Video
A Working Man is an action thriller film directed by David Ayer, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Sylvester Stallone. Based on the 2014 novel Levon’s Trade by Chuck Dixon, the 2025 film follows ex-Royal Marine Commando Levon Cade as he is dragged back into the action after the daughter of his boss and friend is kidnapped. A Working Man stars Jason Statham, Jason Flemyng, Michael Peña, and David Harbour.
Highest 2 Lowest (September 5) – Apple TV+
Highest 2 Lowest is a crime thriller drama film directed by Spike Lee from a screenplay by Alan Fox. Based on the 1963 Japanese film High and Low by Akira Kurosawa, the Apple TV+ film is set in New York City and it follows David King, a powerful music mogul who becomes the target of a ransom plot but the kidnappers mistakenly take an acquaintance instead of King’s son, which puts King in a difficult situation as the boy who has been kidnapped is his driver’s son. Highest 2 Lowest stars Denzel Washington, Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, ASAP Rocky.
Friendship (September 5) – HBO Max
Friendship is a dark comedy film written and directed by Andrew DeYoung. The 2025 film follows Craig, a socially awkward man who becomes obsessed with befriending Austin, his new neighbor, who leads an unfulfilling life. Friendship stars Tim Robinson, Kate Mara, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Paul Rudd.
Sacramento (September 5) – Hulu
Sacramento is a road comedy-drama film directed by Michael Angarano, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Chris Smith. The 2025 film follows two estranged best friends, Rickey and Glenn, as they go on a heartfelt and often chaotic road trip from Los Angeles to Sacramento. The film stars Michael Cera, Michael Angarano, Maya Erskine, and Kristen Stewart.
Black Bag (September 5) – Prime Video
Black Bag is a spy thriller drama film directed by Steven Soderbergh from a screenplay by David Koepp. The 2025 film follows British Intelligence operative George Woodhouse, who’s tasked with finding a mole in their midst, but things take an unexpected turn when his own wife becomes the top suspect in his investigation. Black Bag stars Michael Fassbender, Cate Blanchett, Marisa Abela, Tom Burke, Naomie Harris, Regé-Jean Page, and Pierce Brosnan.
Warfare (September 12) – HBO Max
Warfare is a war thriller drama film co-written and co-directed by Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland. Based on Mendoza’s experiences as a U.S. Navy SEAL during the Iraq War, the 2025 film revolves around a platoon of Navy SEALs as they get surrounded by hostiles during a dangerous mission. Warfare stars D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Will Poulter, Cosmo Jarvis, Kit Connor, Finn Bennett, Joseph Quinn, and Charles Melton.
Novocaine (September 12) – Prime Video
Novocaine is an action comedy film co-directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen from a screenplay by Lars Jacobson. The 2025 film follows Nathan Caine, a mild-mannered young man who has lived all of his life in fear because of a rare condition that makes him unable to feel pain. Things change when he meets Sherry Margrave, his co-worker at the bank, but when she is kidnapped during a robbery, he uses his condition to rescue her. Novocaine stars Jack Quaid, Amber Midthunder, Ray Nicholson, Jacob Batalon, Betty Gabriel, and Matt Walsh.
The Wrong Paris (September 12) – Netflix
The Wrong Paris is an upcoming romantic comedy film directed by Janeen Damian from a screenplay by Nicole Henrich. The Netflix film follows Dawn, a single young woman who participates in a reality dating show in hopes of going to Paris, France, but soon she discovers that they have actually taken her to Paris, Texas. The Wrong Paris stars Miranda Cosgrove, Pierson Fodé, Torrance Coombs, Madison Pettis, Madeleine Arthur, Frances Fisher, and Yvonne Orji.
Swiped (September 19) – Hulu
Swiped is an upcoming biographical drama film written and directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg. Based on the life of Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe, the Hulu film follows Whitney Wolfe as she goes from being a Tinder employee to launching her own dating service that prioritizes women’s safety. Swiped stars Lily James, Dan Stevens, Myha’la, Jackson White, Ben Schnetzer, and Pierson Fodé.
All of You (September 26) – Apple TV+
All of You is an upcoming sci-fi romantic drama film directed by William Bridges, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Brett Goldstein. The Apple TV+ film follows best friends Laura and Simon, who’ve always had feelings for each other, but they never got together because of a test that told them that they were not soulmates. All of You stars Brett Goldstein, Imogen Poots, Zawe Ashton, Steven Cree, and Jenna Coleman.
