The Ruins (July 1)

The Ruins is a natural horror film directed by Carter Smith from a screenplay by Scott B. Smith. Based on Smith’s 2006 novel of the same name, the 2008 film is set in Mexico and it revolves around two young couples on a vacation visiting a remote Mayan ruin where they are attacked by a carnivorous vine growth. The Ruins stars Jonathan Tucker, Jena Malone, Shawn Ashmore, Laura Ramsey, and Joe Anderson.

Lake Placid (July 1)

Lake Placid is a B-horror comedy film directed by Steve Miner from a screenplay by David E. Kelley. The 1999 film is set in Maine, where the residents are being terrorized by a giant crocodile. The story revolves around a group of police officers and scientists who arrive in town to stop the crocodile, but soon find themselves being hunted by it. Lake Placid stars Bill Pullman, Bridget Fonda, Oliver Platt, and Brendan Gleeson.

Last Breath (July 3)

Last Breath is a survival thriller film directed by Alex Parkinson, who also co-wrote the film with Mitchell LaFortune and David Brooks. Based on the 2019 documentary of the same name by Parkinson and Richard do Costa, the 2025 film follows the true story of a group of veteran deep-sea divers as they race against time and fight against nature to rescue one of their own who is trapped hundreds of feet below the ocean’s surface.
