Netflix is ready with an entertainment-packed October this year. The upcoming month will see the return of one of Netflix’s best original films The Platform and also new brilliant movies like Don’t Move and Woman of the Hour. Just like every month, Netflix is ready to overload you with great content. So, we’re here to tell you about the 10 movies coming to Netflix in October 2024.

The Bad Guys: Haunted Heist (October 3)

The Bad Guys: Haunted Heist is an upcoming animated Halloween heist comedy special directed by Kevin Peaty. Based on the 2022 film titled The Bad Guys written by Etan Cohen and the children’s graphic novel by Aaron Blabley, the upcoming Netflix special follows the Bad Guys after they steal from a haunted mansion but when Wolf is haunted by the owner of the mansion they have to return the loot. The Bad Guys: Haunted Heist voice cast includes Michael Godere, Ezekiel Ajeigbe, Raul Ceballos, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Mallory Low.

The Platform 2 (October 4)

The Platform 2 is an upcoming satirical sci-fi thriller film directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia who also co-wrote the script with David Desola, Pedro Rivero, and Egoitz Moreno. The Netflix sequel film once again takes up the platform, a prison where each new resident chooses their dish of food and must only eat from that so that the food can reach all levels. The Platform 2 stars Milena Smit, Hovik Keuchkerian, Natalia Tena, and Óscar Jaenada.

It’s What’s Inside (October 4)

It’s What’s Inside is an upcoming horror thriller comedy film written and directed by Greg Jardin. The Netflix film revolves around a group of college friends who reunite before a wedding, but their reunion takes a disturbing turn when a surprise guest arrives with a mysterious suitcase. It’s What’s Inside stars Brittany O’Grady, James Morosini, Gavin Leatherwood, Nina Bloomgarden, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Reina Hardesty, Devon Terrell, David W. Thompson, and Madison Davenport.

Girl Haunts Boy (October 10)

Girl Haunts Boy is an upcoming fantasy romantic drama film directed by Emily Ting from a screenplay co-written by Dustin Ellis and Cesar Vitale. The Netflix film follows the story of Cole, a young man grieving the loss of his father as he finds comfort in his new friend Bea, a ghost who has been haunting Cole’s house for over a century. Girl Haunts Boy stars Peyton List and Michael Cimino in the lead roles with Andrea Navedo, Phoebe Holden, Brandon Michael Hall, Ethan Herschenfeld, and Shivani Mendez.

Uprising (October 11)

Uprising is a South Korean historical war action drama film directed by Kim Sang-man from a screenplay co-written by Shin Cheol and Park Chan-wook. The upcoming Netflix film is set in the Joseon Dynasty and it revolves around two friends who grew up together, one was the servant and the other was the master who reunited after the war on opposing sides as enemies. Uprising stars Gang Dong-won, Park Jeong-min, Kim Shin-rok, Jin Seon-kyu, Jung Sung-il, and Cha Seung-won.

Lonely Planet (October 11)

Lonely Planet is an upcoming romantic drama film written and directed by Susannah Grant. The Netflix film follows the story of a newly single writer hoping to get some rest during a retreat in Morocco but she soon develops an unexpected connection with a younger man who is re-evaluating his relationship. Lonely Planet stars Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth in the lead roles with Diana Silvers, Heeba Shah, Rachida Brakni, and Ben Youcef starring in supporting roles.

Woman of the Hour (October 18)

Woman of the Hour is a crime thriller film directed by Anna Kendrick from a screenplay by Ian MacDonald. The upcoming Netflix film is set in 1978 and it revolves around serial killer Rodney Alcala who appeared on a dating show and won a date with Cheryl Bradshaw. Alcala had already murdered five women before meeting Cheryl. Woman of the Hour stars Anna Kendrick, Daniel Zovatto, Nicolette Robinson, and Tony Hale.

Kung Fu Panda 4 (October 21)

Kung Fu Panda 4 is an animated martial arts comedy film directed by Mike Mitchell from a screenplay co-written by Jonathan Aibel, Glenn Berger, and Darren Lemke. The 2024 film is the fourth entry into the Kung Fu Panda film franchise and it continues the story of Po who takes on the task of training a new warrior to take his place but when a powerful shape-shifting sorceress wants to acquire Po’s Staff of Wisdom, he realizes that he needs help to defeat her. Kung Fu Panda 4’s voice cast includes Jack Black, Awkwafina, Bryan Cranston, James Hong, Ian McShane, Ke Huy Quan, Dustin Hoffman, and Viola Davis.

Don’t Move (October 25)

Don’t Move is a horror thriller drama film directed by Adam Schindler and Brian Netto from a screenplay co-written by T.J. Cimfel and David White. The upcoming Netflix film follows the story of a young grieving woman who is kidnapped by a seasoned serial killer and injected with a paralytic agent. Now, she must run and hide from the killer before her body completely shuts down in order to survive. Don’t Move stars Kelsey Asbille, Finn Wittrock, Daniel Francis, and Moray Treadwell.

Time Cut (October 30)

Time Cut is an upcoming sci-fi slasher film directed by Hannah MacPherson who also co-wrote the film with Michael Kennedy. The Netflix film follows the story of a high school senior student who accidentally finds a time machine and decides to travel back in time to 2003 to save her sister who was murdered by an unknown killer. Time Cut stars Michael Shanks, Madison Bailey, Antonia Gentry, and Griffin Gluck.
