From The Devil Wears Prada‘s legacy sequel to the much-anticipated new Mortal Kombat film, this month, there is going to be something for everyone. The Devil Wears Prada 2 (May 1)
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is a comedy-drama film directed by David Frankel from a screenplay by Aline Brosh McKenna. The 2026 sequel film is set 20 years after the events of the first film, and it follows Miranda Priestly and Andrea Sachs as they reunite after a scandal makes Miranda extremely unpopular in the public eye. Hokum (May 1)
Hokum is a Gothic supernatural horror film written and directed by Damian McCarthy. The 2026 film follows Ohm Bauman, a novelist, as he travels to Ireland to scatter his parents’ ashes and stays at a remote inn. He soon begins experiencing disturbing visions, which he believes are connected to the tales of a witch that haunts the honeymoon suite. Hokum stars Adam Scott, Peter Coonan, David Wilmot, Florence Ordesh, Michael Patric, and Will O’Connell.
Mortal Kombat II (May 8)
Mortal Kombat II is an upcoming martial arts fantasy film directed by Simon McQuoid from a screenplay by Jeremy Slater. Based on the video game series of the same name by Ed Boon and John Tobias, the 2026 sequel film follows Johnny Cage as he joins the fight against the powerful tyrant, Shao Khan, to save the world. The Sheep Detectives (May 8)
The Sheep Detectives is a mystery comedy film directed by Kyle Balda from a screenplay by Craig Mazin. Based on Leonie Swann’s 2005 novel Three Bags Full, the 2026 film revolves around a herd of sheep whose shepherd used to read murder mysteries to them, but when he is killed, they decide to solve his murder by themselves. The Sheep Detectives stars Hugh Jackman, Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, and Chris O’Dowd.
Obsession (May 15)
Obsession is an upcoming supernatural horror film written and directed by Curry Barker. The 2026 film follows Bear, a music store employee who buys a supernatural toy and wishes for his childhood friend to fall in love with him, but things take a disturbing turn after she becomes obsessed with him. Obsession stars Michael Johnston, Inde Navarrette, Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, and Andy Richter.
In the Grey (May 15)
In the Grey is an upcoming action thriller film written and directed by Guy Ritchie. The 2026 film follows Sid, Bronco, and Rachel, three elite operatives tasked with recovering billions of dollars of stolen money from a ruthless tyrant. Driver’s Ed (May 15)
Driver’s Ed is an upcoming comedy film directed by Bobby Farrelly from a screenplay by Thomas Moffett. The 2025 film follows a group of teenagers as they head out on an impromptu road trip after stealing their driver’s ed teacher’s car. Driver’s Ed stars Sam Nivola, Sophie Telegadis, Mohana Krishnan, Aidan Laprete, Molly Shannon, and Kumail Nanjiani.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu (May 22)
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu is an upcoming space adventure film directed by Jon Favreau, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Dave Filoni and Noah Kloor. The 2026 film is set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, and it follows Djarin and Grogu as they are recruited by the New Republic to rescue Rotta the Hutt.
