This July, we are getting a ton of content on streaming and in theaters from the much-anticipated conclusion of The Sandman and the return of The Summer I Turned Pretty, to the streaming release of the blockbuster film Sinners on Max. This upcoming month will see the release of many highly anticipated films, so we thought of compiling a list of all the must-watch films that are coming straight to Theaters near you.
Jurassic World Rebirth (July 2)

If you are thinking that Jurassic Park film franchise should be done already and stop ruining the perfect original film, then I agree with you but when every film makes over a billion dollars then the certainty of a sequel is absolute, and that’s what you are getting this upcoming month, but this time with Scarlett Johansson. Directed by Gareth Edwards from a screenplay by David Koepp, the upcoming film is set four years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion, and it follows Zora Bennett as she and her team of highly skilled operatives go to the site of the original Jurassic Park to secure genetic material from dinosaurs. Jurassic World Rebirth also stars Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Ed Skrein.
Superman (July 11)

I already know that you don’t need a reminder to “Look Up,” but we had to mention the official beginning of the DC Studios under James Gunn as the first Superman film comes out in nearly twelve years. Starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel, the upcoming film is set to follow Clark Kent, aka Superman, as he comes to terms with where he is from and who he is. Superman also stars Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, and Isabella Merced.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (July 18)

I don’t know if you wanted another I Know What You Did Last Summer film, but Hollywood executives definitely did, as you are getting a new film in the long-running slasher franchise with some original cast members returning to reprise their iconic roles. Serving as a sequel to the 1998 film, the upcoming film is set 27 years after the Tower Bay murder, and it revolves around a new group of friends who covered up a car accident and are now being targeted by the hook-wielding killer. I Know What You Did Last Summer stars Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers, Sarah Pidgeon, Billy Campbell, Gabbriette Bechtel, Austin Nichols, Freddie Prinze Jr., and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Smurfs (July 18)

Smurfs is an upcoming live-action animated musical comedy film directed by Chris Miller from a screenplay by Pam Brady. Serving as a reboot to the Smurfs film franchise, the upcoming film revolves around the Smurfs as they set out on an adventurous journey to the real world to rescue Papa Smurf from the evil wizards Razamel and Gargamel. Smurfs stars Rhianna, James Corden, Nick Offerman, JP Karliak, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Jimmy Kimmel, Octavia Spencer, Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Alex Winter, Maya Erskine, Kurt Russell, and John Goodman.
Eddington (July 18)

If you loved the duo of Ari Aster and Joaquin Phoenix in the surrealist tragicomedy film Beau Is Afraid, then you are in luck, as they teamed up once again for the Western dark comedy-drama film Eddington. The upcoming A24 film is set in the town of Eddington, New Mexico, and it revolves around a conflict between the sheriff and the mayor, which throws the whole town into chaos. Eddington stars Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Luke Grimes, Deirdre O’Connell, Michael Ward, Austin Butler, and Emma Stone.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps (July 25)

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is one of the most important movies coming out in the upcoming month, especially for Marvel Studios, as their last two big-budget films have bombed miserably at the box office. Directed by Matt Shakman from a screenplay co-written by Josh Friedman and Eric Pearson, the upcoming MCU film is set on a 1960s-inspired retro-futuristic parallel Earth, and it revolves around the Fantastic Four as their planet faces an apocalyptic threat. The Fantastic Four: First Steps stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Joseph Quinn, John Malkovich, Julia Garner, Paul Walter Hauser, and Ralph Ineson.
