The upcoming month will see the release of the much-anticipated legal drama series, The Rainmaker, as well as the streaming release of the dark comedy thriller film, Borderline. Borderline (August 1)

Borderline is a dark comedy thriller film written and directed by Jimmy Warden. The 2025 film is set in the 1990s in Los Angeles, and it follows pop star and actress Sofia Minor as she comes under attack by Paul Duerson, an obsessive and deluded fan. Borderline stars Samara Weaving, Ray Nicholson, Jimmie Fails, Alba Baptista, and Eric Dane.
Spoiler Alert (August 3)

Spoiler Alert is a romantic comedy-drama film directed by Michael Showalter from a screenplay co-written by David Marshall Grant and Dan Savage. Based on the 2017 memoir titled Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies by Michael Ausiello, the 2022 film revolves around Michael, a writer, as he tries to come to terms with his partner’s terminal diagnosis. Spoiler Alert stars Jim Parsons, Ben Aldridge, Sally Field, Bill Irwin, Antoni Porowski, Nikki M. James, and Jeffery Self.
Monkey Man (August 14)

Monkey Man is an action thriller film directed by Dev Patel, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Paul Angunawela and John Collee. The 2024 film follows a young man known only as the Kid, who believes his biggest purpose in life is to exact vengeance on the corrupt leaders and authorities responsible for his mother’s death. Monkey Man stars Dev Patel, Sharlto Copley, Pitobash, and Vipin Sharma.
The Rainmaker Season 1 (August 16)

The Rainmaker is an upcoming legal drama series co-developed by Michael Seitzman and Jason Richman. Based on the 1995 novel of the same name by John Grisham, the USA Network series follows Rudy Baylor, a young lawyer who is fired on his first day from a white-collar firm, but soon he is hired by a small law firm where he works with eccentric people. The Rainmaker stars Milo Callaghan, John Slattery, Madison Iseman, Lana Parrilla, P.J. Byrne, Robyn Cara, Dan Fogler, and Wade Briggs.
Night of the Zoopocalypse (August 22)

Night of the Zoopocalypse is an animated supernatural horror comedy film co-directed by Rodrigo Perez-Castro and Ricardo Curtis from a screenplay co-written by James Kee and Steven Hoban. Based on a concept by Clive Barker, the 2025 film follows the mismatched mountain lion and wolf as they must work together to save their fellow zoo animals after a meteor crashes into the zoo and releases a virus that turns them into zombies.
