Max is ready with an entertainment-packed October this year. The upcoming month will see the return of some of HBO’s brilliant original comedy series Somebody Somewhere and also new original movies like Salem’s Lot. Just like every month, Max is ready to overload you with great content. So, we’re here to tell you about the 10 new movies and TV shows coming to Max in October 2024.

Interview with the Vampire (October 1)

Interview with the Vampire is a gothic horror drama film directed by Neil Jordan from a screenplay by Anne Rice. Based on Rice’s 1976 novel of the same name, the 1994 film follows the story of Louis, a vampire as he tells his life story to an eager biographer and his violent maker Lestat tries to make Louis stay with him. Interview with the Vampire stars Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Kirsten Dunst, Christian Slater, Antonio Banderas, Thandiwe Newton, and Stephen Rea.

Salem’s Lot (October 3)

Salem’s Lot is a supernatural horror thriller film written and directed by Gary Dauberman. Based on the iconic 1975 novel of the same name by legendary author Stephen King, the upcoming Max original film follows the story of writer Ben Mears who returns to his childhood home in Jerusalem’s Lot but he soon discovers that a vampire is terrorizing his hometown. Salem’s Lot stars Lewis Pullman, Makenzie Leigh, Bill Camp, Pilou Asbæk, Alfre Woodard, and William Sadler.

Gremlins: The Wild Batch Season 2 (October 3)

Gremlins: The Wild Batch Season 2 is an animated prequel series. The upcoming season will be set two years after the events of Season 1 and it follows Gizmo, Sam, and Elle as they travel from their home in Shanghai to San Francisco. The Gremlins are trying to hunt down a new brood of evil Mogwai in the American West as they come across various magical creatures. Gremlins: The Wild Batch’s voice cast includes Ming-Na Wen, James Hong, BD Wong, Izaac Wang, AJ LoCascio, Gabrielle Nevaeh, George Takei, Simu Liu, Michael Paul Chan, Ronny Chieng, Keith David, Will Forte, Kelly Hu and Jimmy O. Yang.

The Franchise Season 1 (October 6)

The Franchise is a satirical comedy-drama series created by Jon Brown. The upcoming HBO series revolves around the crew during the production of a superhero film and while everything is on fire and nobody gets along, it is pretty fun to watch. The Franchise stars Himesh Patel, Aya Cash, Jessica Hynes, Billy Magnussen, Lolly Adefope, Darren Goldstein, and Isaac Cole Powell.

Caddo Lake (October 10)

Caddo Lake is a thriller drama film written and directed by Celine Held and Logan George. The upcoming Max original film revolves around the disappearance of an eight-year-old girl in Caddo Lake after which a series of deaths and disappearances begin to link together. Caddo Lake stars Dylan O’Brien, Eliza Scanlen, Diana Hopper, Caroline Falk, Sam Hennings, Eric Lange, and Lauren Ambrose.

The Confidante Season 1 (October 11)

The Confidante is a psychological thriller drama miniseries directed by Just Philippot. Inspired by true events, the Max series follows the story of Christelle “Chris” Blandin after the attacks on Paris as she becomes a prominent member of a survivor’s association and even though commitment seems relentless, her connection to the attacks is not what she told people. The Confidante stars Laure Calamy, Arieh Worthalter, Annabelle Lengronne, Alexis Manenti, Ava Baya, and Anne Benoît.

Tuesday (October 11)

Tuesday is a fantasy drama film written and directed by Daina O. Pusić. The 2024 film follows the story of Zora and her 15-year-old wheelchair-bound daughter, Tuesday who suffers from an incurable terminal disease. The mother-daughter duo must confront Tuesday’s eventual death when it magically comes into the form of an astonishing talking bird. Tuesday stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lola Petticrew, Arinze Kene, and Leah Harvey.

MaXXXine (October 18)

MaXXXine is a mystery horror thriller film written and directed by Ti West. The 2024 film is the third entry in West’s X film franchise it is set in the 1980s and it follows the story of Maxine who sets out to achieve fame and success in Hollywood but soon she becomes the target of a mysterious serial killer. MaXXXine stars Mia Goth, Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Bacon.

Trap (October 25)

Trap is a psychological mystery thriller film written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. The 2024 film follows Cooper Adams who takes his teenage daughter to watch a concert but he soon realizes that the concert is a trap laid by the FBI to catch a serial killer known as “the Butcher.” Trap stars Josh Hartnett, Ariel Donoghue, Saleka Night Shyamalan, Hayley Mills, and Alison Pill.

Somebody Somewhere Season 3 (October 27)

Somebody Somewhere returns for its much-awaited Season 3 this October but the sad thing is that the HBO series is ending with its upcoming season. Season 3 will see Sam and the people around her grow and try to be happy in their lives against all odds. Somebody Somewhere Season 3 stars Bridget Everett, Jeff Hiller, Mary Catherine Garrison, Tim Bagley, Murray Hill, Jennifer Mudge, Mercedes White, Meighan Gerachis, and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson.
