Max is ready with an entertainment-packed June this year. The upcoming month will see the return of some of HBO’s brilliant period drama series, The Gilded Age, as well as the streaming release of Paolo Sorrentino‘s latest film, Parthenope. Just like every month, HBO Max is ready to overload you with great content. So, we’re here to tell you about the seven new movies and TV shows coming to Max in June 2025.
Parasite (June 1)

Parasite is a South Korean dark comedy thriller film directed by Bong Joon-ho, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Han Jin-won. The 2019 film revolves around the financially struggling Kim family, who see an opportunity to lead a parasitic life when their son gets a job working for a wealthy family. Parasite stars Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-kyun, Cho Yeo-Jeong, Choi Woo-shik, Park So-dam, and Jang Hye-jin.
Bullet Train (June 3)

Bullet Train is an action comedy film directed by David Leitch from a screenplay by Zak Olkewicz. Based on the 2010 novel Maria Beetle by Kōtarō Isaka, the 2022 film follows Ladybug, a professional hitman who is tasked with stealing a briefcase from a bullet train in Japan. He soon discovers that there are several assassins on the train, and all of them have been hired to execute different but connected tasks. Bullet Train stars Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Hiroyuki Sanada, Michael Shannon, Benito A. Martinez Ocasio, and Sandra Bullock.
Parthenope (June 6)

Parthenope is a coming-of-age drama film written and directed by Paolo Sorrentino. The 2024 film is set in the 1950s in the summers of Naples and it follows Parthenope, a beautiful young woman as she searches for love during her youth. Parthenope stars Celeste Dalla Porta, Stefania Sandrelli, Gary Oldman, Silvio Orlando, Luisa Ranieri, Peppe Lanzetta, and Isabella Ferrari.
Cleaner (June 13)

Cleaner is a British action thriller film directed by Martin Campbell from a screenplay co-written by Simon Uttley, Paul Andrew Williams, and Matthew Orton. The 2025 film follows Joey Locke, a former soldier turned window cleaner, who must fight against radical activists who have taken people hostage to save her brother. Cleaner stars Daisy Ridley, Taz Skyler, Clive Owen, Matthew Tuck, Flavia Watson, Ruth Gemmell, Ray Fearon, Howard Charles, and Rufus Jones.
A Minecraft Movie (June 21)

A Minecraft Movie is a fantasy adventure comedy film directed by Jared Hess from a screenplay co-written by Chris Bowman, Hubbel Palmer, Neil Widener, Gavin James, and Chris Galletta. Based on the extremely popular video game Minecraft, developed by Mojang Studios, the 2025 film follows a group of people who are transported to the cubic world of Minecraft. Now, they must seek help from an expert crafter named Steve to get back to their world. A Minecraft Movie stars Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, Sebastian Hansen, and Jennifer Coolidge.
The Gilded Age Season 3 (June 22)

The Gilded Age is a historical drama series created by Julian Fellowes. The upcoming Season 3 of the HBO series is set in the 1880s in New York City, and it continues the story of the Russells as they take great risks to reach the top of New York’s high society. The 2024 film follows Porky Pig and Daffy Duck as they face off against aliens to save their town and the world.
