While we have already made a list of the best of the best movies coming to Hulu in September, those are not the only films you should look out for as the Disney-owned streaming service is also bringing you a lot of original and licensed new content in the upcoming month, from the return of a brilliant animated series to the highly anticipated new season of Hulu’s most steamy series Tell Me Lies. So, we picked out the 15 best new movies and TV shows coming to Hulu in September 2024.

English Teacher Season 1 (September 3)

English Teacher is an upcoming comedy-drama series created by Brian Jordan Alvarez. The FX series revolves around Evan Marquez, a high school teacher as he finds himself navigating through the extremely personal, political, and volatile environment of today’s high school while also trying to inspire the students. English Teacher stars Brian Jordan Alvarez, Stephanie Koenig, Enrico Colantoni, Sean Patton, and Cameron Christopher.

Tell Me Lies Season 2 (September 4)

Tell Me Lies finally returns for another steamy season. Created by Meaghan Oppenheimer, the Hulu series is based on a 2018 novel of the same name by author Carola Lovering and it picks up Lucy and Stephen’s story after their explosive breakup as they return to college and settle into the new version of their volatile relationship. Tell Me Lies Season 2 stars Grace Van Patten, Sonia Mena, Catherine Missal, Jackson White, Tom Ellis, Natalie Linez, Branden Cook, Alicia Crowder, Edmond Donovan, Benjamin Wadsworth, and Spencer House.

Boy Kills World (September 13)

Boy Kills World is a dystopian action dark comedy film directed by Moritz Mohr from a screenplay co-written by Tyler Burton Smith and Arend Remmers. The 2024 film revolves around Boy, a young man in a dystopian city who has trained his whole life only to get revenge against the oppressive Van Der Koy family. When he finally gets his chance he goes on a bloody rampage to kill the entire Van Der Koy family. Boy Kills World stars Bill Skarsgård in the lead role with H. Jon Benjamin, Nicholas and Cameron Crovetti, Jessica Rothe, Quinn Copeland, Michelle Dockery, Brett Gelman, Andrew Koji, Famke Janssen, and Sharlto Copley starring in supporting roles.

How to Die Alone Season 1 (September 13)

How to Die Alone is an upcoming comedy series created by Natasha Rothwell and Vera Santamaria. The Hulu series revolves around Mel, a young woman who is broke, never fell in love, and is a bit overweight but after a near-death experience she decides to change all that and take life by its horns. How to Die Alone stars Natasha Rothwell, Conrad Ricamora, Jocko Sims, KeiLyn Durrel Jones, and Bashir Salahuddin.

The Old Man Season 2 (September 13)

The Old Man finally returns for its much-awaited second season this month. Created by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine, the FX series is based on a 2017 novel of the same name by author Thomas Perry, the upcoming season will see CIA agent Dan Chase and former FBI Assistant Director Harold Harper teaming up to rescue Emily Chase after she is kidnapped. The Old Man Season 2 stars Jeff Bridges, John Lithgow, Alia Shawkat, and Amy Brenneman.

American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez Season 1 (September 18)

American Sports Story is an upcoming anthology sports drama series created by Stu Zicherman. This season of the anthology series will follow the rise and fall of the former NFL player Aaron Hernandez. American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez stars Josh Andrés Rivera, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Lindsay Mendez, Tony Yazbeck, Jake Cannavale, Catfish Jean, Jaylen Barron, Tammy Blanchard, and Thomas Sadoski.

High Potential Season 1 (September 18)

High Potential is an upcoming crime comedy-drama series created by Drew Goddard. Based on a French-Belgian series HPI created by Stéphane Carrié, Alice Chegaray-Breugnot, and Nicolas Jean, the ABC series revolves around a single mom with an exceptionally brilliant mind as she teams up with a by-the-book detective to solve dangerous crimes. High Potential stars Kaitlin Olson, Daniel Sunjata, Javicia Leslie, Deniz Akdeniz, Amirah J, Matthew Lamb, and Judy Reyes.

Rescue: HI-Surf Season 1 (September 23)

Rescue: HI-Surf is an upcoming action-adventure drama series created by Matt Kester. The Fox series revolves around the personal and professional lives of open-water lifeguards as they put their lives on the line to protect people on the North Shore of O’ahu. 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 (September 24)

9-1-1: Lone Star returns for its much anticipated Season 5. Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, the Fox procedural drama will continue the story of first responders in Austin, Texas. 9-1-1: Lone Star stars Rob Lowe, Ronen Rubenstein, Gina Torres, Jim Parrack, Natacha Karam, Brian Michael Smith, Rafael Silva, Julian Works, and Brianna Baker.

Murder in a Small Town Season 1 (September 25)

Murder in a Small Town is an upcoming Canadian mystery-drama series created by Ian Weir. Based on Karl Alberg’s mystery novel series by author L.R. Wright, the upcoming series revolves around Detective Karl Alberg and his partner Edwina Yen as they try to investigate a shocking string of murders in a usually peaceful community. Murder in a Small Town stars Rossif Sutherland, Kristin Kreuk, Mya Lowe, Aaron Douglas, Stana Katic, and James Cromwell.

Doctor Odyssey Season 1 (September 27)

Doctor Odyssey is an upcoming medical drama series created by Ryan Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken. The ABC series follows Max, the new on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship as he leads his talented team of medical professionals to solve the biggest medical crises. She Taught Love (September 27)

She Taught Love is a romantic drama film directed by Nate Edwards from a screenplay by Darrell Britt-Gibson. The 2024 film revolves around a self-destructive man and a woman with an expiration, as they meet by chance and fall in love. What You Wish For (September 27)

What You Wish For is a thriller drama film written and directed by Nicholas Tomnay. The 2023 film revolves around Ryan, a down-on-his-luck chef in a lot of debt to some very dangerous people as he goes on the run and assumes the identity of his old friend who is a prestigious private chef. But Ryan soon finds himself in a very dangerous situation with his client and tries to figure a way out of it. What You Wish For stars Nick Stahl, Tamsin Topolski, Randy Vasquez, Penelope Mitchell, Brian Groh, and Juan Carlos Messier.

Krapopolis Season 2 (September 30)

Krapopolis’s voice cast includes Richard Ayoade, Matt Berry, Pam Murphy, Duncan Trussell, and Hannah Waddingham.

Babes (September 30)

Babes is a comedy film directed by Pamela Adlon from a screenplay by Ilana Glazer and Josh Rabinowitz. The 2024 film revolves around two best friends Eden and Dawn after Eden gets pregnant from a one-night-stand and decides to keep the baby hoping Dawn, a mother of two will help her through her pregnancy which puts a bit of pressure on their friendship. Babes stars Ilana Glazer and Michelle Buteau in the lead roles with Hasan Minhaj, Stephan James, Oliver Platt, John Caroll Lynch, Shola Adewusi, and Sandra Bernhard starring in supporting roles.
