Bob Trevino Likes It (August 5)
Bob Trevino Likes It is a comedy-drama film written and directed by Tracie Laymon. Inspired by Laymon’s own life, the 2024 film follows a young woman searching for her estranged father online, but she soon befriends a different man with the same name. Bob Trevino Likes It stars Barbie Ferreira, John Leguizamo, and French Stewart.
The Monkey (August 7)
The Monkey is a horror dark comedy film written and directed by Osgood Perkins. Based on the 1980 short story by Stephen King, the 2025 film follows estranged twin brothers who must reunite to destroy a cursed toy monkey from their childhood because it kills people in horrifying ways. The Monkey stars Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, Christian Convery, Colin O’Brien, Rohan Campbell, Sarah Levy, Adam Scott, and Elijah Wood.
The Lost City (August 10)
The Lost City is an action-adventure comedy film co-directed by Adam and Aaron Nee, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Oren Uziel and Dana Fox. The 2022 film follows Loretta Sage, a former archaeology researcher turned popular romantic novelist, who a sinister billionaire kidnaps to find a lost burial chamber, and the only person who can help her is her novel’s dimwitted cover model, Alan Caprison. The Lost City stars Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Brad Pitt, Oscar Nunez, Patti Harrison, and Bowen Yang.
Copshop (August 11)
Copshop is a neo-noir action thriller dark comedy film directed by Joe Carnahan, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Kurt McLeod. The 2021 film is set in a small town police station, and it revolves around a con man, an assassin, and a rookie police officer as their paths cross violently. Copshop stars Gerard Butler, Frank Grillo, and Alexis Louder.
Alien: Earth Season 1 (August 12)
Alien: Earth is an upcoming sci-fi horror thriller series created by Noah Hawley. The Hulu series is set two years before the events of the 1979 film Alien, and it revolves around a young woman and a group of tactical soldiers as they come face-to-face with an apocalyptic threat after a space vessel crashes on Earth. Alien: Earth stars Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Essie Davis, Adarsh Gourav, Kit Young, David Rysdahl, and Babou Ceesay.
Sharp Corner (August 12)
Sharp Corner is a thriller drama film written and directed by Jason Buxton. Based on Russell Wangersky’s 2012 short story of the same name, the 2024 film follows a man who slowly becomes obsessed with saving people from accidents on a sharp corner near his home. John Wick Films 1-4 (August 15)
John Wick is an action thriller film franchise created by Derek Kolstad. The beloved action film franchise follows John Wick, a legendary former assassin who goes back to his bloody ways to get revenge against the people who killed his dog and stole his car. John Wick stars Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, and Laurence Fishburne.
Thanksgiving (August 17)
Thanksgiving is a slasher thriller film directed by Eli Roth from a screenplay by Jeff Rendell. Based on a fictitious trailer from the 2007 film Grindhouse, the 2023 film is set in a small Massachusetts town, and it revolves around its residents as a masked killer terrorizes them during the holidays. Thanksgiving stars Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, Rick Hoffman, and Gina Gershon.
High Country Season 1 (August 19)
High Country is an Australian mystery thriller drama series co-created by Marcia Gardner and John Ridley. The Binge and Showcase series is set in the High Country, and it follows the newly arrived Detective Andie Whitford as she is tasked with investigating the mysterious disappearance of five locals. High Country stars Leah Purcell, Ian McElhinney, Sara Wiseman, Aaron Pedersen, and Matt Domingo.
The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox Season 1 (August 20)
The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox is an upcoming legal thriller drama miniseries created by K.J. Steinberg. Sisu is a Finnish-English historical action thriller film written and directed by Jalmari Helander. The 2022 film is set during World War II, and it follows a legendary former Finnish Army commando turned gold prospector who is robbed and attacked by a Nazi platoon. He soon strikes back in order to get his revenge and the gold. Sisu stars Jorma Tommila, Aksel Hennie, Jack Doolan, Mimosa Willamo, and Onni Tommila.
