Morgan Freeman to Star in ‘Lucy’ Spinoff Series

Morgan Freeman is in advanced talks to star in the spinoff series of the hit action film Lucy. The 2014 film starred Scarlett Johansson in the titular lead role. According to Variety, EuropaCorp and Village Roadshow are partnering up to develop a spinoff based on the film, and are talking with Freeman, so that he would star in it.

Lucy revolved around the title character as gains extraordinary physical and mental capabilities after a large amount of a drug is absorbed into her bloodstream giving her psychokinetic powers. After, this Lucy tries to destroy everyone who is trying to do her harm and hold her captive.

Directed by Luc Besson, Lucy earned over $460 million worldwide at the box office. The hit film starred Johansson as Lucy, Freeman as Professor Samuel Norman, Amr Waked as Pierre Del Rio, Choi Min-sik as Mr. Jang, and Lio Tipton as Caroline. In the upcoming series, Freeman would be reprising his role as Professor Norman.
