Based on the 2024 book Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy by Elizabeth Beller, the FX series is adapted for television by Connor Hines.
The story follows the whirlwind romance and tragically short-lived marriage of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. The miniseries focuses on their relationship as it is scrutinized by the press and the public, and how it affects them.
