The new supernatural horror film Prey for the Devil is just here in time for Halloween. Prey for the Devil follows a young who is fighting to save the soul of a possessed girl. However, it is indicated that this isn’t the first time she is had to deal with the devil. The horror film is directed by Daniel Stamm, who has previously worked on the found footage mockumentary The Last Exorcism, and episodes of Fear of the Walking Dead and Scream.

Prey for the Devil – When is it Coming Out?
Prey for the Devil was originally titled The Devil’s Light and when it was announced back in October 2019, James Hawes was attached to the project as the director. But in February 2020, Stamm was brought on to the project as the director.
Prey for the Devil was originally due to come out on January 8, 2021, but it was pushed to February 11, 2022. Then it was delayed again and now it is finally coming out on October 28, 2022.
Prey for the Devil – What is it About?
The official synopsis for Prey for the Devil by Lionsgate is:
“Sister Ann (Jacqueline Byers) believes she is answering a calling to be the first female exorcist… but who, or what, called her? In response to a global rise in demonic possessions, Ann seeks out a place at an exorcism school reopened by the Catholic Church. Until now these schools have only trained priests in the Rite of Exorcism – but a professor (Colin Salmon) recognizes Sister Ann’s gifts and agrees to train her. Thrust onto the spiritual frontline with fellow student Father Dante (Christian Navarro), Sister Ann finds herself in a battle for the soul of a young girl, who Sister Ann believes is possessed by the same demon that tormented her own mother years ago. Determined to root out the evil, Ann soon realizes the Devil has her right where he wants her.”
Prey for the Devil – Who is in it?
Jacqueline Byers (Salvation) stars in the lead role as Sister Ann. The film also stars Colin Salmon (Resident Evil) as Father Quinn, Christian Navarro (13 Reasons Why) as Father Dante, Virginia Madsen (Candyman) as Dr. Peters, Lisa Palfrey (Sex Education) as Sister Euphemia, Nicholas Ralph (All Creatures Great and Small) as Father Raymond, and the late Ben Cross who finished filming for his role in Prey for the Devil shortly before his death plays the role of Cardinal Matthews.
Prey for the Devil – In Theaters or On Streaming?
Prey for the Devil is premiering in theaters in most countries including the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada on October 28, 2022.
While it has not been announced where the film will come for streaming after its theatrical run. Lionsgate did recently sign a deal with The Roku Channel and Peacock, which will allow both streaming services the rights to Lionsgate films. Lionsgate’s premium channel Starz will also soon be rebranded as Lionsgate+ outside of the US and Canada.
