Ghostbusters fans got a brilliant gift with Jason Reitman‘s latest entry in the Ghostbusters franchise titled Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and now the film will be available for digital purchase on January 4, 2022, and the Blu-ray and DVD versions will be available on February 1, 2022.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is considered the third ghostbuster film in the franchise after 1984’s Ghostbusters and 1989’s Ghostbusters II. Reitman picks up his father’s Ghostbusters legacy who directed the first two films, and is credited as the writer and director of the film, he refers to the film as a love letter to the franchise, the fans of the franchise, and his father. The new film follows a new generation of Ghostbusters, who make the role their own just like the original stars did.
Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and Sigourney Weaver are reprising their roles in Ghostbusters: Afterlife and the newcomers include Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, McKenna Grace, Logan Kim, Finn Wolfhard, and Celeste O’Connor.
