The legendary filmmaker Guillermo del Toro just confirmed on X that the deleted scenes for his recent adaptation of Mary Shelley‘s classic 1818 novel Frankenstein will be available in the physical release.
The confirmation comes after fans were asking if any cuts were made to the final cut of the film, and if so, when the extras would be available. Del Toro’s confirmation also indicates his long-standing belief that his films should be released in Blu-ray and other disc formats because the disc release format includes extended cuts, deleted scenes, and behind-the-scenes materials, which give the fans the complete version of his films.
Del Toro’s past filmography’s deleted scenes have always garnered interest from fans as they have always provided additional context, character dynamics, and world-building elements. That’s the reason why fans were looking forward to Frankenstein’s deleted scenes, which could include more philosophical context and character building for his film.
Frankenstein stars Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein, Jacob Elordi as the Creature, Mia Goth as Lady Elizabeth Harlander, Felix Kammerer as William Frankenstein, David Bradley as the Blind Man, Lars Mikkelsen as Captain Anderson, Charles Dance as Baron Leopold Frankenstein, and Christoph Waltz as Henrich Harlander.
Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein is available to stream on Netflix right now.
