Netflix has decided to renew its teen psychological thriller series Bet for a second season after it proved itself by staying in Netflix’s global Top 10 rankings for an English-language series for three weeks.
Based on the Japanese manga series Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler, which is written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Tōru Naomura, the Netflix series was adapted into a television series by Simon Barry, who previously served as a showrunner and executive producer on Netflix’s fantasy action series Warrior Nun.
Bet is set on the premises of St. Dominic’s Prep, an exclusive private academy where the social hierarchy of the students is determined by gambling. It follows Yumeko Kawamoto, a transfer student and compulsive gambler whose soul mission is to burn St. Dominic’s to the ground because of a secret reason.
Bet stars Miku Martineau as Yumeko Kawamoto, Ayo Solanke as Ryan Adebayo, Eve Edwards as Mary Davis, Clara Alexandrova as Kira Timurov, Hunter Cardinal as Michael, Anwen O’Driscoll as Riri Timurov and Wendy, Aviva Mongillo as Dori Ahlstrom, Ryan Sutherland as Suki, Dorian Giordano as Chad White, Laura Afelskie as Runa Von Ludwig, and Emma Elle Patterson as Blake Samuels.
No release date for Bet Season 2 has been announced yet. Stay tuned for updates on Bet and other movies and TV shows.
