2025 is halfway over, and at this point, I am realizing that most of the movies I was excited about this year have been a disappointment, but that doesn’t mean that there were no good movies released this as there have been some extremely entertaining ones. But for this article we are only compiling the best of the best films that were released as Prime Video originals this year.
The Accountant 2

The Accountant 2 is an action thriller film directed by Gavin O’Connor from a screenplay by Bill Dubuque. The 2025 sequel film continues the story of forensic accountant Christian Wolff as he reunites with his mercenary brother Braxton to investigate the murder of former Director of FinCEN, Raymond King. The Accountant 2 stars Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson, Robert Morgan, and J.K. Simmons.
Deep Cover

Deep Cover is a British action comedy film directed by Tom Kingsley from a screenplay co-written by Colin Trevorrow, Derek Connolly, Ben Ashenden, and Alexander Owen. The 2025 film is set in London and it follows three improv actors who are enlisted by the police to go undercover in the criminal underworld of the city. Deep Cover stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Orlando Bloom, Nick Mohammed, Paddy Considine, Ian McShane, and Sean Bean.
Another Simple Favor

Another Simple Favor is a dark comedy mystery crime film directed by Paul Feig from a screenplay co-written by Jessica Sharzer and Laeta Kalogridis. The 2025 sequel film is set five years after the events of the first film and it follows Stephanie Smothers, who has now become a popular true crime vlogger. She is soon forcefully invited to attend the destination wedding of Emily Nelson. Another Simple Favor stars Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Elizabeth Perkins, Michele Morrone, Elena Sofia Ricci, Henry Golding, and Allison Janney.
The Fire Inside

The Fire Inside is a biographical sports drama film directed by Rachel Morrison from a screenplay by Barry Jenkins. The 2025 film chronicles the early boxing career of Claressa “T-Rex” Shields as she goes from being a fighter from Flint, Michigan to competing at the 2012 Summer Olympics. The Fire Inside stars Ryan Destiny, Brian Tyree Henry, Oluniké Adeliyi, De’Adre Aziza, and Adam Clark.
Unstoppable

Unstoppable is a biographical sports drama film directed by William Goldenberg from a screenplay co-written by Eric Campanella, Alex Harris, and John Hindman. Based on the nonfiction book Unstoppable by Anthony Robles and Austin Murphy, the 2025 film follows the true story of Robles, who was born without a leg and still managed to become a NCAA Division I wrestling champion. Unstoppable stars Jharrel Jerome, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Don Cheadle, and Jennifer Lopez.
Heads of State

Heads of State is an action comedy film directed by Ilya Naishuller from a screenplay co-written by Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, and Harrison Query. The 2025 film follows the United States President Will Derringer and the United Kingdom Prime Minister Sam Clarke as they are attacked by terrorists, which leaves them stranded and forced to work to survive. Heads of State stars John Cena, Idris Elba, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Jack Quaid, Paddy Considine, Stephen Root, and Carla Gugino.
You’re Cordially Invited

You’re Cordially Invited is a romantic comedy film written and directed by Nicholas Stoller. The 2025 film follows Jim Caldwell, a widowed single father, and Margot Buckley as Jim’s daughter’s and Margot’s sister’s wedding gets double-booked, and both of them try to get the venue for their wedding party. You’re Cordially Invited stars Will Ferrell, Reese Witherspoon, Geraldine Viswanathan, Meredith Hagner, Jimmy Tatro, Stony Blyden, Leanne Morgan, and Rory Scovel.
