Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the writers of the upcoming sequel to the 2018 Sony animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse titled Spider-Man: Across the SpiderVerse (Part One) have just given a hint to the fans about where Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) might be going in the future. The first film followed Miles as he is bitten by a radioactive spider, and not long after that Kingpin kills Peter Parker aka Spider-Man (Chris Pine), leaving Miles to be the only webslinger in their universe to stop Kingpin, but soon after that many portals open and Miles gets help from other Spider-people such as Peter B. Parker aka Spider-Man (Jake Johnson), Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld), and a lot of other eccentric web slingers.

When the 2018 film was ending the viewers thought that this is the end of Miles’ multiversal adventures, but during the post-credits scene the film set up a sequel by introducing Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac), and he will be seen again in the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the SpiderVerse (Part One) which is coming to theaters in October 2022, and the Part Two will be coming in 2023. Across the SpiderVerse (Part One)’s confirmed returning cast includes Moore, Isaac, Steinfeld, and Johnson, and the newcomer is Issa Rae as Spider-Woman aka Jessica Drew. The trailer for Across the SpiderVerse (Part One) shows the fans that this time Miles will be traveling to other universes rather than the other Spider-people coming to his universe.

During an interview with IndieWire, Lord and Miller hinted at what might be next for Miles Morales in the sequel. The screenwriters said that just by pushing the medium, the webslinger can possibly go anywhere in any universe. Read what they said below:

“It’s been fun to have the confidence … And to go even harder and push the medium even further and take Miles to places you couldn’t imagine.”

The 2018 film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, to say the least, changed how we expected to see Spider-Man films always and in the process, it also won an Oscar and you can also see its influence in the new Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is the biggest film of 2021. To say that the expectations are high for Spider-Man: Across the SpiderVerse (Part One), would be an understatement because since the ending of the first film everybody has been waiting for the next journey that Miles will take.
