Bodies is a British sci-fi murder-mystery series created by Paul Tomalin. Based on the DC Vertigo comic and graphic novel of the same name written by Si Spencer, and illustrated by Dean Ormston, Tula Lotay, Meghan Hetrick, and Phil Winsdale. The Netflix series follows four different detectives in four different periods trying to solve the same murder in London. Created by Mark Frost and David Lynch, the surreal mystery drama series follows the story of FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper as he comes to a small town called Twin Peaks to look into the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer. Twin Peaks was canceled only after two seasons but it came back for a movie and a third season on Showtime. Created by Dan Erickson, the Apple TV+ series follows the story of Mark and the team he works with in his office, but the twist in this series is that the memories of Mark and his colleagues have surgically been divided between their personal and work lives. So, when they get home they don’t remember what they did in the office and when they get to the office they can’t remember what their lives are on the outside. Upload is a sci-fi comedy series instead in some moments when it’s not and that’s when it turns into a murder mystery. Created by Greg Daniels, the Prime Video series is set in a world where one can live on in a virtual death even after their death. Upload follows the story of Nathan, a computer programmer who dies prematurely and is uploaded in a virtual heaven known as Lakeview, where he is under the thumb of his possessive still alive girlfriend. Soon, Nathan meets Nora, a customer service rep working for Lakeview and as they begin developing feelings for each other Nora begins to think that Nathan’s death might not have been an accident. The OA (Netflix)

The OA is a mystery sci-fi drama with some supernatural and fantasy elements. Created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, the Netflix series follows the story of a bling young woman who disappeared seven years ago and has now resurfaced in mysterious circumstances as her vision is healed and she refuses to tell the FBI and her adoptive parents anything about the time when she was missing. Dark is a German sci-fi mystery drama that shows us time travel and even takes us to alternate worlds. Created by Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, the Netflix series is set in a small German town and it follows the story of a young boy Jonas Kahnwald, who is still devastated by his father’s suicide when two children go missing we come to know a group of characters who are connected to the horrific past of the town. Dark is simply one of the best sci-fi series ever created and it is a worldwide phenomenon for a reason and that’s its brilliant storytelling.
