It’s a new month and Netflix is here with some much-anticipated new original movies and TV shows. As always Netflix is proving itself by releasing compelling content month after month on its platform. This month is no different as there will be something new for everyone, from comedy to drama and action to fantasy. So, here are the best new original movies and shows coming on Netflix in June 2024.

Sweet Home Season 3 (June 6)

Sweet Tooth is coming to an end with its third and final season. Based on a DC comic book limited series of the same name by Jeff Lemire, the Netflix series is going to tell its final story on June 6. In Season 3 we will see Gus and his group of friends heading to Alaska to find his mother who is working to uncover the mystery behind the deadly Sick. In his journey to find answers he will meet new friends and old enemies. Sweet Tooth Season 3 will see the return of Christian Convery in the lead role with Nonso Anozie, Stefania LaVie Owen, Naledi Murray, Adeel Akhtar, Kelly Marie Tran, Rosalind Chao, Cara Gee, and Ayazhan Dalabayeva starring in supporting roles.

Hit Man (June 7)

Hit Man is the Netflix title that I am most excited to see in June. Directed by Richard Linklater from a screenplay co-written by Linklater and Glen Powell, the film dark romantic-comedy film is based on a true story and it follows the story of Gary Johnson, a man who fakes being a hit man as a second job to help the police in capturing people who want someone dead but when a woman comes to him with an offer to kill her husband, he can’t help but be attracted to her. Will Gary’s love story turn into some kind of Basic Instinct situation, that’s the question we should be asking. Hit Man stars Powell and Adria Arjona in the lead roles with Austin Amelio, Retta, Molly Kate Bernard, Evan Holtzman, Mike Markoff, Ritchie Montgomery, Morgana Shaw, and Gralen Bryant starring in supporting roles.

Hierarchy Season 1 (June 7)

Hierarchy is a South Korean thriller drama series directed by Bae Hyun-Jin from a screenplay by Chu Hye-Mi. The Netflix series is set in the prestigious Jooshin High School where the top 0.01% of students dictate the law but their rule begins to crumble when a secretive transfer student arrives in their world. Hierarchy stars Roh Jeong-eui, Kim Jae-won, Lee Chae-min, Ji Hye-won, and Lee Won-jung.

Trigger Warning (June 21)

Trigger Warning is an action thriller film directed by Mouly Surya from a screenplay co-written by John Brancato, Josh Olson, and Halley Gross. Based on a short story by Otep Shamaya, the Netflix film follows the story of a skilled Special Forces officer who takes over her grandfather’s bar after he dies and soon finds herself in conflict with the violent gang terrorizing her hometown. Trigger Warning stars Jessica Alba in the lead role with Anthony Michael Hall, Mark Webber, Jake Weary, Tone Bell, Alejandro De Hoyos, Gabriel Basso, Kaiwi Lyman, Hari Dhillon, and Nadiv Molcho starring in supporting roles.

That ’90s Show Season 2 (June 27)

That ’90s Show is returning for Part 2 after being an unexpected hit for the streaming service. Serving as a sequel series to the hit sitcom That ’70s Show by Bonnie Turner, Terry Turner, and Mark Brazill, the Netflix series is set in the 1990s and it follows the story of Eric Forman and Donna Pinciotti’s daughter Leia Forman as she visits her grandparents in Point Place, Wisconsin, where she meets her new friends. Part 2 of the series will return on June 27 with Part 3 coming out on October 24, 2024. That ’90s Show stars Debra Jo Rupp, Kurtwood Smith, Callie Haverda, Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Reyn Doi, Maxwell Acee Donovan, and Sam Morelos.

A Family Affair (June 28)

A Family Affair is a romantic comedy film directed by Richard LaGravenese from a screenplay by Carrie Solomon. The Netflix film follows the story of a young woman who works as an assistant for a movie star but the twist is that her boss falls in love with her mother. A Family Affair stars Joey King, Zac Efron, and Nicole Kidman in the lead roles with Liza Koshy, Kathy Bates, and Shirley MacLaine starring in supporting roles.

Supacell Season 1 (TBA)

Supacell is a superhero drama series created by Rapman. The Netflix series is set in South London where ordinary Black People mysteriously develop superpowers including Michael Lasaki who must bring all of these superpowered people together to save the woman he loves. Supacell stars Tosin Cole in the lead role with Adelayo Adedayo, Yasmin Monet Prince, Eddie Marsan, Nadine Mills, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Calvin Demba, Josh Teseku, Rayxia Ojo, Giacomo Mancini, Michael Salami, and Travis Jay.
