Jojo Rabbit star Roman Griffin Davis has just joined the cast of a new animated film titled Wonderland (previously titled Dreamworld), from Polish studio Lightcraft. Davis will voice the lead character, Jake, a 12-year-old boy.
The European film is co-directed by Daniel Markowicz and Maks Naporowski, and follows a young boy named Jake and his friend Jenny as they face a mysterious figure in their dreams, Vagapulga. Wonderland’s cast also includes the Danish star Mads Mikkelsen.
Co-directed by Markowicz, said this about Davis’ casting in the role of Jake – “From the outset, Roman showed a strong understanding of Jake and the emotional logic of the story. That made him a natural fit for the role.”
Davis’ most well-known performance up till now has been in his lead role of Jojo Betzler in Taika Waititi‘s Jojo Rabbit, but since then, he has starred in multiple projects, including the 2021 apocalyptic dark comedy film Silent Night, the 2025 dystopian horror film The Long Walk, which was based on Stephen King‘s 1979 novel of the same name. He most recently starred in Ric Roman Waugh‘s sequel to the 2020 film Greenland, titled Greenland 2: Migration.
Wonderland is expected to be released in 2026, but until the distribution is locked down, a release date can’t be predicted with much accuracy.
