Los Angeles-based talent agency Mavrick Artists Agency and New York-based Eris Talent Agency have just signed on to represent the talented South African-born character actor Stelio Savante.
Savante recently appeared in the final season of SWAT as Omar Morina on CBS and Paramount+. In SWAT, he starred opposite Elizabeth Tabish, Patrick Sabongui, and Elizabeth Mitchell. The SAG Award-nominated, American movie award winner and polyglot multi-hyphenate (actor, producer, writer) also appeared in the Mark Freiburger-directed immigrant true-life drama film Between Borders as Duane.
Savante’s acting career began in the early 1990s on the theatre stages in New York and Alabama, and up till now, he has starred in over 140 films, TV shows, and video games with plenty more to come our way.
Alongside his career, Savante has also built up a nice resume as a producer. Some of his producing credits include Laurence Fishburne and Milo Gibson‘s Under the Stadium Lights, Bobby Cannavale and Frank Langella‘s Angry Neighbors, and writer-director Nicki Micheaux‘s moving drama film (which also happens to be her directorial debut), Summer of Violence. Savante has also served as a theater producer, with his most notable credit being the 9/11 documentary play titled 110 Stories by Sarah Tuft and it’s cast comprised of brilliant actors such as Billy Crudup, Robert Foster, Edie Falco, the late James Gandolfini, John Hawkes, Samuel L. Jackson, Cynthia Nixon, Jeremy Piven, Mira Sorvino, Diane Venora, and Savante himself.
Savante is all set to star in several upcoming projects, such as Cyrus Nowrasteh‘s biographical drama, Sarah’s Oil, the Israeli-Hamas Oct 27th war drama Stay Forte, directed by Cannes alumni Doron Eran, the biographical survival thriller film Hazel by writer-director Daniel Bielinski, the Tom Datnow’s upcoming crime drama film Poachers Moon, and finally the E.B. Hughes-written and directed noir thriller film Dark Horse.
Along with Eris and Mavrick, Savante is represented by Opus Entertainment, Harter Allen in the UK, Vox, and Kaye & Mills.
