The live-action series adaptation of The Sandman comic book series is finally on Netflix to stream now. The Netflix series has many iconic DC Comics heroes and villains in key roles. The comic book series ran from 1989 to 1996 with great responses from critics and readers alike. The Sandman comic book series was created and written by Neil Gaiman, who is also serving as an executive producer on the Netflix series. The Sandman premiered on the streaming giant with rave reviews and if I can say anything about the series it is that the series is literally a dream, which we never want to wake up from. The Sandman has been renewed for a second season so while you wait for Season 2 to come out here are some shows you could watch until then.

American Gods (Starz)
Synopsis: When Shadow Moon is released from prison, he meets the mysterious Mr. Wednesday and a storm begins to brew. Little does Shadow know, this storm will change the course of his entire life. Left adrift by the recent, tragic death of his wife, and suddenly hired as Mr. Wednesday’s bodyguard, Shadow finds himself in the center of a world that he struggles to understand. It’s a world where magic is real, where the Old Gods fear both irrelevance and the growing power of the New Gods, like Technology and Media. Mr. Wednesday seeks to build a coalition of Old Gods to defend their existence in this new America, and reclaim some of the influence that they’ve lost. As Shadow travels across the country with Mr. Wednesday, he struggles to accept this new reality, and his place in it.
The Umbrella Academy (Netflix)
Synopsis: On the same day in 1989, forty-three infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by a billionaire who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his “children” to save the world. Now, the six surviving members reunite upon the news of their father’s passing and must work together to solve a mystery surrounding his death. But the estranged family begins to come apart due to their divergent personalities and abilities, not to mention the imminent threat of a global apocalypse. The Umbrella Academy is based on the comic book series created and written by Gerard Way, illustrated by Gabriel Bá, and published by Dark Horse Comics.
Penny Dreadful (Paramount+)

The Magicians (Netflix)

Constantine (Apple TV)
Synopsis: Based on the wildly popular comic book character from DC Comics, seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine (Matt Ryan) is armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and a wickedly naughty wit. He fights the good fight – or at least he did. Swamp Things (Rent on Apple TV)
