The comic book series ran from 1989 to 1996 with great responses from critics and readers alike. The Sandman comic book series was created and written by Neil Gaiman, who is also serving as an executive producer on the Netflix series. The Sandman premiered on the streaming giant with rave reviews and if I can say anything about the series it is that the series is literally a dream, which we never want to wake up from.
