In my opinion, this year’s box office was saved by amazing horror movies like Sinners and Weapons, which earned massive bucks despite being original properties. So, here are the absolute best horror movies that were released in 2025.

Weapons is a mystery horror film written and directed by Zach Cregger. The 2025 film is set in a quiet suburban town, and it revolves around a shocking event that saw 17 young children suddenly disappear without a clue. The only thing they have in common is that they have the same homeroom teacher. Weapons stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Toby Huss, Benedict Wong, Amy Madigan, and Sara Paxton.

Based on Stephen King’s 1980 short story of the same name, the 2025 film follows the Shelburn twin brothers as their lives turn upside down after finding a sinister toy monkey that kills people in brutal ways. After growing up, some of them decided to get together to destroy the monkey to keep people safe. Final Destination Bloodlines is a supernatural horror film co-directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein from a screenplay co-written by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor. The 2025 film is the sixth installment in the Final Destination film series, and it revolves around a young woman whose grandmother had a premonition years ago that saved several people. Now, death is coming for all of them, including the people who weren’t born then.
