Surviving Summer is an Australian teen drama series created by Joanna Werner and Josh Mapleston. The Netflix series follows the story of Summer Torres (Sky Katz), a rebellious teenager who gets sent to Australia to live with an old friend of her mother after getting expelled from her high school in Brooklyn. In her new school, she starts hanging out with a group of competitive surfers. They live with three of Ava’s friends who also help raise the kids in the fictional city of Playa Linda, California.

Synopsis: Seven top Australian teenager surfers are selected to live in a training facility attached to a high school and fight to get sponsorship and a wild card onto the Professional Circuit. The series is a race into the finals for the wild card, a race to get through the year, and a race to grow up.
