Stumptown is a crime thriller starring Cobie Smulders in the lead role of Dex Parios, an Army veteran who is strong, assertive, and witty and now she is starting her career as a private investigator. Based on the series of graphic novels of the same name written by Greg Rucka with art by Matthew Southworth and the series is adapted for television by Jason Richman. Stumptown worked because of the brilliant chemistry between all of its cast including Smulders, Jake Johnson, and Michael Ealy. Sadly, the series only ran for a single season and it was canceled after 18 episodes. So, if you also miss the series here are some shows you could watch next.

Jessica Jones (Disney+)

Suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome, Jessica wants to do good, but her primary interest isn’t in saving the world, it’s saving her apartment and getting through each day. Based on a graphic novel intended for adults, this is not a superhero story for the kids.

Perry Mason (HBO Max)

Synopsis: Offensive and self-destructive Portland Police Bureau Detective Lieutenant Everett Backstrom and his team of eccentric criminologists investigate crimes including the death of a senator’s son, serial arson, the murder of a youth pastor, the murder of a drag queen blogger and the kidnapping of a teen by an online predator. Recurring guest stars include Sarah Chalke as Amy Gazanian, chair of the Civilian Oversight Committee and Backstrom’s ex-fiancée, and Robert Forster as Sheriff Blue Backstrom, his estranged father.
