Shadowhunters is based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book series by Cassandra Clare named The Mortal Instrument and while the Freeform series is not the first adaptation of the book series, the first being the Lily Collins film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. Shadowhunter stars Katherina McNamara as an 18-year-old girl Clary Fray, who finds out on her eighteenth birthday that she comes from a long line of Shadowhunter meaning human-angel hybrid who hunt down demons. Joining her in the fight against evil are Jace, Alec Lightwood, Simon Lewis, and Isabelle Lightwood. Shadowhunters debuted with its first season in 2016 and ended with its third and final season in 2019. So, if you miss the fantasy series here are some more shows you could watch after Shadowhunters.

Syfy’s original series Wynonna Earp is a really entertaining supernatural western action-drama series. The series is based on the comic book of the same name and it follows the titular character played by Melanie Scrofano, a high-functioning alcoholic who happens to be a direct descendant of the legendary lawman and gunslinger Wyatt Earp. Because of a family curse, Wynonna now has to kill the men and women Wyatt Earp killed in his time because all of them have become revenants or demons, who are walking the earth in the present. Wynonna has the help of the very sexy gun named Peacemaker, which she has to use to shoot the revenants right in their head to send them right back to hell. Also, Doc Holliday (Tim Rozon) is also alive in the present and he is immortal now, other people helping Wynonna are his sister Waverly (Dominque Provost-Chalkley), and the U.S. Deputy Marshal Xavier Dolls played by Shamier Anderson. Wynonna Earp ran for seasons and during that time it earned a considerable amount of fanbase.
Synopsis: Inspired by the Manga novels, Warrior Nun revolves around a 19 year-old woman who wakes up in a morgue with a new lease on life and a divine artifact embedded in her back. She discovers she is now part of an ancient order that has been tasked with fighting demons on Earth, and powerful forces representing both heaven and hell want to find and control her.
Fate: The Winx Saga
Synopsis: Fate: The Winx Saga follows the coming-of-age journey of six fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence. From creator Brian Young (The Vampire Diaries), Fate: The Winx Saga is a live-action reimagining of the Italian cartoon Winx Club from Iginio Straffi.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Synopsis: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina imagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft. This adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature —half-witch, half-mortal —while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.
Synopsis: At Belgrave University, college freshman Jack Morton joins a fabled secret society where he’s thrust into a dangerous game of life or death. As Jack goes deeper, he uncovers dark family secrets and an underground battle between werewolves and the magical dark arts.
Buffy: The Vampire Slayer
