Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is back with a new, action-packed series, SAS: Rogue Heroes. The BBC series is based on the best-selling book of the same name by Ben Macintyre and it stars Connor Swindells, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Allen, Sofia Boutella, and Dominic West. The six-part series follows a dramatized version of how the real-life SAS regiment was formed under such extraordinary circumstances during World War II. SAS: Rogue Heroes will be heavy on action with its huge set-pieces and exciting storylines. The BBC series is written, created, and executive produced by Knight, and it is directed by The Serpent series’ famed director Tom Shankland. Band of Brothers (HBO Max)

Synopsis: Based on the bestseller by Stephen E.Ambrose, Band of Brothers tells the story of Easy Company. 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, U.S Army. Drawn from interviews with survivors of Easy Company, as well as soldiers’ journals and letters, Band of Brothers chronicles the experiences of these men who knew extraordinary bravery and extraordinary fear. They were an elite rifle company parachuting into France early on D-Day morning, fighting in the Battle of Bulge and capturing Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest at Berchtesgaden. They were also a unit that suffered 150 percent casualties, and whose lives became legends.

Synopsis: Britain in 1919 is a tumultuous mix of despair and hedonism, a nation cleaned out by the extravagances of the Great War. Returning soldiers, newly minted revolutionaries and criminal gangs all fight for survival in an industrial landscape gripped by economic upheaval. Based on a true story, this drama follows a gang in Birmingham as they rise to become the most feared and powerful in town.
Catch-22 (Hulu)

Synopsis: Christopher Abbott is Yossarian, a bombardier, whose frantic obsession every time he goes up on a mission is “to come down alive”. His odds of success at such a simple aim keep getting worse, because Colonel Cathcart (Kyle Chandler) keeps raising the number of missions the men have to fly. More than the retreating Germans, the real enemy for Yossarian and his rag-tag bunch of friends is the bureaucracy of the military, inverting logic at every turn. The pinnacle of this is Catch-22, a military by-law which states that if you fly your missions, you’re crazy, and don’t have to fly them; all you have to do is ask. But if you as not to, then you’re sane, and so you have to fly them. George Clooney stars as the barking mad, parade-obsessed Scheisskopf. Hugh Laurie is the mellow, slightly checked-out Major de Coverley. Clooney directs the six-episode series, along with Grant Heslov and Ellen Kuras.
World on Fire (Prime Video Premium Subscription)

Synopsis: World on Fire is an adrenalized, emotionally gripping, and resonant World War II drama that follows the intertwining fates of ordinary people in five countries as they grapple with the effects of the war on their everyday lives. The stellar cast includes Academy Award®-winner Helen Hunt (As Good As it Gets, Mad About You), Sean Bean (Game of Thrones), Academy Award®-nominee Lesley Manville (Phantom Thread), Jonah Hauer-King (Little Women, Howard’s End) and Blake Harrison (A Very English Scandal).
