Netflix is nothing if not a goldmine of content, with basically something to watch for everyone, and today we are making a list of the best 10 new movies on Netflix in October 2022 that you can watch next month. The movies in this list are arranged according to their availability on the streaming service.
Call Me By Your Name (Oct. 1)
Synopsis: It’s the summer of 1983 in Italy, and Elio (Chalamet), a precocious 17-year-old, spends his days in his family’s villa transcribing and playing classical music, reading and flirting with his friend Marzia. One day, Oliver (Hammer), a charming American scholar arrives as the annual summer intern tasked with helping Elio’s father, an eminent professor. Elio and Oliver discover the heady beauty of awakening desire over the course of a summer that will alter their lives forever.
Gladiator (Oct. 1)
Synopsis: A man robbed of his name and his dignity strives to win them back and gain the freedom of his people in this epic historical drama from director Ridley Scott. In the year 180 the death of emperor Marcus Aurelius (Richard Harris) throws the Roman Empire into chaos. Maximus (Russell Crowe) is one of the Roman army’s most capable and trusted generals and a key advisor to the emperor. As Marcus’ devious son Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) ascends to the throne Maximus is set to be executed. He escapes but is captured by slave traders. Renamed Spaniard and forced to become a gladiator Maximus must battle to the death with other men for the amusement of paying audiences. His battle skills serve him well and he becomes one of the most famous and admired men to fight in the Colosseum. Determined to avenge himself against the man who took away his freedom and laid waste to his family Maximus believes that he can use his fame and skill in the ring to avenge the loss of his family and former glory. As the gladiator begins to challenge his rule Commodus decides to put his own fighting mettle to the test by squaring off with Maximus in a battle to the death. Gladiator also features Derek Jacobi Connie Nielsen Djimon Hounsou and Oliver Reed who died of a heart attack midway through production.
Risky Business (Oct. 1)
Synopsis: Meet Joel Goodsen, an industrious college-bound seventeen-year-old, a responsible and trustworthy son … Meet Lana, young, hot, exquisite and street-smart. Joel’s (Tom Cruise) two preoccupations in life are: getting into college and having sex–which until now has been just a fantasy. But Joel’s parents are going on vacation and leaving him in charge of the house. Now, what Lana (Rebecca De Mornay) is going to teach Joel about sex and the free enterprise system in this contemporary coming-of-age tale is every parent’s nightmare and a very Risky Business.
Mr. Harrigan’s Phone (Oct. 5)
Synopsis: When Craig, a young boy living in a small town (Jaeden Martell) befriends Mr. Harrigan, an older, reclusive billionaire (Donald Sutherland), the two begin to form an unlikely bond over their love of books and reading. But when Mr. Harrigan sadly passes away, Craig discovers that not everything is dead and gone and strangely finds himself able to communicate with his friend from the grave through the iPhone in this supernatural coming-of-age story that shows that certain connections are never lost.
Based on the short story by Stephen King, Mr. Harrigan’s Phone is directed and written by John Lee Hancock and produced by Ryan Murphy, Jason Blum and Carla Hacken. Joe Tippett, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Cyrus Arnold, Colin O’Brien, Thomas Francis Murphy and Peggy J. Scott also co-star.
Luckiest Girl Alive (Oct. 7)
Synopsis: Luckiest Girl Alive centers on Ani FaNelli, a sharp-tongued New Yorker who appears to have it all: a sought-after position at a glossy magazine, a killer wardrobe, and a dream Nantucket wedding on the horizon. But when the director of a crime documentary invites her to tell her side of the shocking incident that took place when she was a teenager at the prestigious Brentley School, Ani is forced to confront a dark truth that threatens to unravel her meticulously crafted life.
The Curse of Bridge Hollow (Oct. 14)
Synopsis: A father (Marlon Wayans) and his teenage daughter (Priah Ferguson) are forced to team up and save their town after an ancient and mischievous spirit causes Halloween decorations to come to life and wreak havoc.
The School for Good and Evil (Oct. 19)
Synopsis: In the village of Gavaldon, two misfits and best friends, Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso) and Agatha (Sofia Wylie), share the unlikeliest of bonds. Sophie, a golden-haired seamstress, dreams of escaping her dreary life to become a princess, while Agatha, with her grim aesthetic and offbeat mother, has the makings of a real witch. The Good Nurse (Oct. 26)

All Quiet on the Western Front (Oct. 28)
Synopsis: All Quiet on the Western Front tells the gripping story of a young German soldier on the Western Front of World War I. Paul and his comrades experience first-hand how the initial euphoria of war turns into desperation and fear as they fight for their lives, and each other, in the trenches. The film from director Edward Berger is based on the world renowned bestseller of the same name by Erich Maria Remarque.
Wendell & Wild (Oct. 28)
Synopsis: From the delightfully wicked minds of Henry Selick and producer Jordan Peele, comes Wendell & Wild, an animated tale about scheming demon brothers Wendell (Keegan-Michael Key) and Wild (Peele) – who enlist the aid of Kat Elliot – a tough teen with a load of guilt – to summon them to the Land of the Living.
