Ryan Reynolds is definitely one of the most funniest and in-demand actors working in Hollywood right now, and Will Ferrell‘s comedic chops are unparalleled in the entertainment industry. When you put them both together you get a Christmas movie called Spirited. Christmas spirit in these times is a very hard task, for some people just some Christmas songs and decorations might do, but for other people, they need a visit from the “ghosts of Christmas present, past, and yet to come.” Spirited is directed by Sean Anders with a script co-authored by Anders and John Morris.
The comedy film is based on the 1843 novella, A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens and illustrated by John Leech. The novella originally told the story of an elderly gentleman named Ebenezer Scrooge, who is transformed into a kinder man after he is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley, and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and the Future. Spirited won’t be the first adaptation of the novella, and it certainly won’t be the last. The upcoming film is joining the ranks of films like Scrooged (1988), A Christmas Carol (2009), and many more. So, if you liked the Ryan Reynolds Christmas movies here are some more movies you should watch next.

A Christmas Carol (2009)

Bad Santa

Synopsis: Starring Billy Bob Thornton, Tony Cox, and Lauren Graham, Bad Santa follows criminals Willie and Marcus as they disguise themselves as Santa Claus and his elf and travel across the country to major malls, using the good will people have toward Santa to rob the mall stores blind. The problem is, Willie can’t stand kids and it’s all he can do to keep himself from getting fired while on the job. Their plan still progresses beautifully until the two reprobates meet an introverted 8-year-old boy who thinks Willie is the real Santa Claus. Overweight, awkward, and the frequent target of bullies, the boy manages to arouse something like sympathy from Willie, who tries to give him some advice and develops something vaguely resembling Christmas spirit along the way.
The Grinch

This holiday season, Buddy goes looking for his true place in the world–in New York City. Buddy finds his workaholic father (James Caan)–who’s on Santa’s “naughty” list, a new mother (Mary Steenburgen) and a 10-year-old brother who doesn’t believe in Santa Claus or elves. Here, now, Buddy discovers his destiny–to save Christmas for New York and the world!
Scrooged

Synopsis: High-spirited high jinks on Christmas Eve put Frank Cross (Bill Murray) in a ghostly time warp in this hilarious take-off of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Before the night is over, he’ll be visited by a maniacal New York cab driver from the past, a present-day fairy who’s into pratfalls and, finally, a ghoulish, seven-foot headless messenger from the future.
