A New Year and Netflix are here with some much-anticipated new original movies and TV shows. As always Netflix is proving itself by releasing compelling content month after month on its platform and this month is no different as there will be something new for everyone this month from comedy to drama and action to fantasy. So, here are the best new and licensed movies and shows coming on Netflix in January 2024.

Fool Me Once Season 1 (January 1)

Based on Harlan Coben’s novel of the same, Fool Me Once is adapted for television by Danny Brocklehurst. The Netflix series revolves around a family who are grieving two brutal deaths of their family members. One of the deceased family members was Maya Stern’s husband and when she installed a nanny cam to keep an eye on her young daughter. She is shocked to see that her late husband is coming into the house as an intruder. Fool Me Once stars Michelle Keegan, Richard Armitage, Adeel Akhtar, Natalie Anderson, Jade Anouka, and Joe Armstrong.

Loudermilk Season 1-3 (January 1)

One of the most underrated comedies that won the hearts and minds of many is finally coming to Netflix with all of its seasons. Created by Peter Farrelly and Bobby Mort, Loudermilk revolves around Sam Loudermilk, a former alcoholic who now works as a janitor and runs a support group for recovering alcoholics. Loudermilk is insanely hilarious and Ron Livingston just suits the part perfectly. The other cast members of the formerly Audience and Prime Video series are Will Sasso, Anja Savcic, and Laura Mennell.

The Brothers Sun (January 4)

After earning both critical and audience praise Michelle Yeoh is back in Netflix’s new action comedy series The Brothers Sun. Created by Byron Wu and Brad Falchuk, the Netflix series revolves around the Sun brothers who are the children of a Taiwanese triad. But when their father is shot by an assassin, the eldest son must go to America and protect his mother and brother, who by the way, doesn’t have any idea about their family business. The Brothers Sun also stars Justin Chien, Sam Li, Highdee Kuan, Alice Hewkin, and Madison Hu.

Gyeongseong Creature Season 1 Part 2 (January 5)

The second part of the thrilling Korean monster series Gyeongseong Creature is finally here. Part 2 of the Netflix series continues Jang Tae-sang and Yoon Chae-ok’s fight to live in a free Joseon while still worrying about the creature that nearly killed them. Gyeongseong Creature has been renewed for a second season.

Good Grief (January 5)

Written and directed by and starring Dan Levy, the new Netflix drama film Good Grief revolves around an artist still grieving the death of his famous writer husband. To make a fresh start he takes a trip to France with his two best friends but what he didn’t expect was that all of the hidden uglyness inside and the hard truths no one wanted to face would also come out. Good Grief also stars Luke Evans, Ruth Negga, and Himesh Patel.

This is Us Season 1-6 (January 8)

Created by Dan Fogelman, NBC’s popular family drama series This Is Us is coming to Netflix with all of its seasons. This Is Us revolves around the Pearson family members which includes the siblings Kevin, Kate, and Randall and their parents Jack and Rebecca Pearson as they go through the struggles of life, love, and family together. This Is Us stars Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown, Mandy Moore, Justin Hartley, Susan Kelechi Watson, and Ron Cephas Jones.

Lift (January 12)

Directed by F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job) and starring Kevin Hart in the leading role, Netflix’s latest action-adventure film titled Lift revolves around a master thief who is lured by the FBI and his ex-girlfriend to pull off a nearly impossible heist. To pull off this impossible heist he recruits an international crew and gets ready to rob a plane heading from London to Zurich in mid-air. Lift also stars Úrsula Corberó, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sam Worthington, Jean Reno, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jacob Batalon, Billy Magnussen, and Kim Yoon-ji.

Griselda (January 25)

Based on the real-life story of Griselda Blanco, comes a new Netflix crime drama miniseries directed by Andrés Baiz. Griselda is set in the 1970s and 80s in Miami and it follows the story of Griselda Blanco as she builds one of the most profitable cartels in history. The series will see Griselda’s dealing with both her family and her dangerous business which was the reason she was widely known as “the Godmother.” Griselda stars Sofia Vergara, Karol G, Vanessa Ferlito, and Alberto Guerra/
