Netflix has one of the most stacked content libraries in all of the entertainment industry, but to make space for the new content coming in every month the viewers still have to say goodbye to some of the existing content on Netflix. So, before your favorite film leaves your favorite streaming service here are CinemaBlind’s best picks for you to watch before they go away. While there are also some shows leaving Netflix in the first month of 2024, none of them are notable enough to put on this list and that’s it’s only consisting of movies. So, here are the best films leaving Netflix in January 2024.

Anchorman Film Series (January 1)

One of the most quotable and hilarious film series ever made is Will Ferrell’s Anchorman franchise. Adam McKay directed both of the films from a screenplay by the lead star Ferrell and the director himself. Anchorman is set in the ’70s and revolves around Rob Burgundy, a popular but stupid anchor at the top of the news industry because of a male-driven society. However, everything soon comes crumbling down when an ambitious reporter named Veronica joins the team. Anchorman also stars Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Christina Applegate, and David Koechner.

Godzilla vs. Kong (January 1)

Everyone was waiting for one moment to come in WB’s Monster Universe and that was Godzilla and King Kong duking it out on the big screen. Fans’ wish came true in 2021’s film Godzilla vs. Kong and while it was a little light on the story it makes it up for that with a banger Titans fight. Following the same and some new human characters from 2019’s Godzilla: The King of Monsters, the 2021 film revolves around Godzilla and King Kong as they try to defeat a mecha-godzilla created by a billionaire. Godzilla vs. Kong stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Julia Dennison, Kaylee Hottle, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Eiza González.

Megamind (January 1)

A brilliant animated film that was overshadowed by the huge success of Despicable Me a the box office was 2010’s Megamind which had a star-studded voice cast and Tom McGrath, the man behind Madagascar and The Boss Baby directed it. Megamind wonders what if an alien that had a similar origin story as Superman but instead of his ship landing in the Kent family farm it landed in a prison. In the film, Megamind was voiced by Will Ferrell, with Ben Stiller as Bernard, Jonah Hill as Hal Stewart, Tina Fey as Roxanne Ritchi, Brad Pitt as Metro Man, David Cross as Minion, and J.K. Simmons as Warden.

The Social Network (January 1)

What if one of the best directors in all of Hollywood joins hands with one of the best screenwriters ever to make a film about a man who created a website that changed the world forever? Yes, we are talking about The Social Network directed by David Fincher from a screenplay by Aaron Sorkin. The Social Network is about friendship, greed, Facebook, and Mark Zuckerberg. Starring Jesse Eisenberg in the lead role of Zuckerberg, with Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Armie Hammer, Rooney Mara, Max Minghella, Brenda Song, Rashida Jones, and Dakota Johnson in the supporting roles.

Get Out (January 6)

One of the most relevant horror directors of the current time who has created some of the most notable films in the genre after spending his whole career in comedy is Jordan Peele. Written and directed by Peele, the first horror film of his career was Get Out, which told us an engaging story about racism, meeting your girlfriend’s family for the first time, and some of the craziest white people ever put to screen. Get Out stars Daniel Kaluuya in the lead role with Allison Williams, Lil Rel Howery, LaKeith Stanfield, Catherine Keener, Bradley Whitford, and Caleb Landry Jones.

Uncharted (January 15)

If we compare Uncharted to some recent great video game adaptations like The Last of Us and The Super Mario Bros. Movie, it doesn’t go great but because of a charming cast and a fun story, it was entertaining enough to delight the audience resulting in box office success. Directed by Ruben Fleischer and based on a video game series of the same name the film revolves around a young thief Nathan Drake who is recruited by Victor Sullivan to help him find the lost fortune of Ferdinand Magelland but they are not the only ones after the treasure. Starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg in the lead role with Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle, and Antonio Banderas in the supporting roles.

Begin Again (January 25)

Written and directed by John Carney, the feel-good film titled Begin Again tells the story of a young singer Greta who is heartbroken after a recent breakup. Still, she soon finds a new purpose when a down on his luck record label executive notices her voice and songs. Starring Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo star in the lead roles of Greta and Dan with Hailee Steinfeld, Catherine Keener, Adam Devine, and Aya Cash starring in supporting roles.
