There are only 2 days left, and the horrible dream, that is 2020 is ending, and now it’s time to look upon the upcoming year as well the best upcoming movies of 2021.

There are a lot of things that we hate 2020 for, but as a cinema fan I hate 2020, because of all the movies that were pushed, and the productions of many movies halted, but the silver lining is the new year is upon us and with that, all of the delayed movies are ready to amaze us in 2021. So, let’s take a look at which are the best upcoming movies of 2021.

There are some movies in the list, which doesn’t have a set release date, and can be pushed to 2022, but hope they release in 2021, and also this list is not ranked, and it will be updated regularly as more announcements are made.

Spider-Man: Far From Home Sequel – Dec. 17, 2021

Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 is one of the most anticipated movies that are coming in 2021, but there is the possibility that it can be bumped to 2022, because of all the upcoming Marvel projects.

Spider-Man 3 will see the return of Tom Holland‘s Spiderman alongside Benedict Cumberbatch‘s Dr. Strange, but after the explosive cliffhanger ending of Spider-Man: Far From Home, this superhero movie is a must-see. There is also big news for Sam Raimi‘s Spider-Man Trilogy fans, and that is Alfred Molena as Dr. Octopus will be making a comeback as well as Jamie Foxx‘s Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. There are also rumors that Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be joining the team, which all point towards a SpiderVerse.

The King’s Man – Feb. 12, 2021

Matthew Vaughn‘s latest entry in The Kingsman franchise also named The King’s Man, which will tell the origins of the independent secret agency, was pushed around a lot, but all the delays only heightened our anticipation. The King’s Man will not be focused on the beloved characters Harry and Eggsy, there is a whole new cast for the origin story which includes, Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, with Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance.

The King’s Man’s official synopsis is, “As a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in The King’s Man.

Dune – October 1, 2021

Dune is a sci-fi saga based on the classic book series of the same name written by Frank Herbert, which is getting adapted again by Denis Villeneuve who is an Academy Award winner French-Canadian director and he has proven his worth in movies like Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival.

The official synopsis for Dune is, “Dune, tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people.  As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.”  

Top Gun: Maverick – July 2, 2021

After the long wait, Tom Cruise is getting back in the jet and fulfilling his need for speed. Top Gun: Maverick will see Tom Cruise’s character Maverick teaching a batch of new recruits including the beloved character Goose’s son played by Miles Teller.

The official synopsis for Top Gun: Maverick is, “After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose.”

Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly it.

A Quiet Place Part II – April 23, 2021

A Quiet Place Part II will pick up right where the first film left off, with the patriarch of the Abbott family Lee Abbott (John Krasinski) dead, the rest of the Abbott will have to survive the deadly but silent apocalypse but not on their own, as Cillian Murphy will be joining the cast as Emmett. Part II will also look back at how this apocalypse started so you can watch Krasinski’s character again, and like the first, he also directed the second one.

The official synopsis for The Quiet Place Part II is, “Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.

Matrix 4 – Dec. 22, 2021

The news came as a big gift for the The Matrix trilogy fans that Matrix 4 is in the works even though there is nothing known about the plot yet the cast of the film gives us plenty of reason to get excited for the film, with Keanu Reeves returning as Neo, Carrie Anne Moss as Trinity, Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe, there are also some new comers like Jessica Henwick, and Yahya Abdul Matten II as Young Morpheus.

F9 – May 28, 2021

F9 can be the biggest blockbuster of 2021, with superstar Jon Chena joining the cast as the antagonist and Dom’s (Vin Diesel) brother, there is no telling how crazy the action will get. F9 will also see the return of the fan-favorite character Han (Sung Kang) and other Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift characters.

The official synopsis for F9 is, “Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. Free Guy – TBA

America’s favorite actor Ryan Reynolds will be back as Guy in Free Guy, a bank teller in a video game. The film will also see some other esteemed actors like Jodie Comer, Taika Waititi, and Joe Keery.

Mission: Impossible 7 – Nov. 19, 2021

Every Mission Impossible movie has been upping the ante on the action, and everybody is excited to see what Tom Cruise will do now. There is nothing much to know about the plot of the film, only that it will set up a two-part story. The whole cast will be back Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, with newcomers to the franchise like Haley Atwell and Shea Whigham.

No Time To Die – April 2, 2021

No Time To Die will be the last Bond film by Daniel Craig, and the hype of the movie is booming every second. No Time To Die will bring back all the great characters from previous movies and bring some newcomers to the franchise like everybody’s favorite loner Rami Malek as Safin, Ana De Armas, and Lashana Lynch as 007.

The official synopsis for No Time to Die is, “In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

The Suicide Squad – August 6, 2021

The soft reboot of the 2016 Suicide Squad, as the creators said will still release in theaters and HBO Max on the same day as announced. With James Gunn directing this ensemble, cast movie has a lot of potentials and a lot of eager fans are waiting for it. The Suicide Squad has a marvelous cast which is Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Idris Elba as Bloodsport, John Cena as Peacemaker, Nathan Fillion as T.D.K., Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man, Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher 2, Flula Borg as Javelin, Alice Braga as Solsoria, Sean Gunn as Weasel, Peter Capaldi as Thinker, Michael Rooker as Savant, Mayling Ng as Mongal, Juan Diego Botto as Silvio “El Presidente” Luna, Storm Reid as Bloodsport’s Daughter Tyla, Steve Agee as the voice of King Shark, and my personal favorite Pete Davidson as Blackguard.
