Black Cake Season 1 (November 1)

Synopsis: Based on The New York Times-bestselling book by Charmaine Wilkerson, “Black Cake” is a family drama wrapped in a murder mystery with a diverse cast of characters and a global setting, from Marissa Jo Cerar, Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Films, and Aaron Kaplans’ Kapital Entertainment. The story takes place in Jamaica, Rome, Scotland, England and Southern California. Cerar wrote the adaptation and serves as showrunner on the series, which spans decades. In the late 1960s, a runaway bride named Covey disappears into the surf off the coast of Jamaica and is feared drowned or a fugitive on the run for her husband’s murder. Fifty years later in California, a widow named Eleanor Bennett, loses her battle with cancer, leaving her two estranged children, Byron and Benny, a flash drive that holds previously untold stories of her journey from the Caribbean to America. These stories, narrated by Eleanor, shock her children and challenge everything they thought they knew about their family’s origin.

Contagion (November 1)

The Last Duel (November 1)

Synopsis: From Twentieth Century Studios and visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott comes “The Last Duel,” a gripping tale of betrayal and vengeance set against the brutality and female oppression of 14th century France. The historical epic, which is based on actual events depicted in “The Last Duel” by Eric Jager, stars Oscar® winner Matt Damon and two-time Academy Award® nominee Adam Driver as quarreling lords, both of noble birth, whose grievances must be resolved in a duel to the death. The film, which also stars Oscar winner Ben Affleck and Emmy® winner Jodie Comer, is directed by four-time Academy Award nominee Ridley Scott from a screenplay by Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Oscar nominee Nicole Holofcener. “The Last Duel” is produced by Scott, Kevin Walsh, Jennifer Fox, and Holofcener with Damon, Affleck, Madison Ainley, Drew Vinton, and Kevin Halloran serving as executive producers.

Magic Mike’s Last Dance (November 2)

Synopsis: “Magic” Mike Lane takes to the stage again after a lengthy hiatus, following a business deal that went bust, leaving him broke and taking bartender gigs in Florida. Quiz Lady (November 3)

Synopsis: A brilliant but tightly wound, gameshow-obsessed young woman, Anne (Awkwafina), and her estranged, train-wreck of a sister Jenny (Sandra Oh), must work together to help cover their mother’s gambling debts. When Anne’s beloved dog is kidnapped, they set out on a wildm cross-country trek to get the cash the only way they know how: by turning Anne into a bona-fide gameshow champion.

Edge of Tomorrow (November 7)

Fool’s Paradise (November 10)

Synopsis: A satirical comedy about a down on his luck publicist, who gets his lucky break when he discovers a man recently released from a mental health facility looks just like a method actor who refuses to leave his trailer. With the help of a powerful producer, the publicist helps the man become a huge star, even marrying his beautiful leading lady. Their adventures lead them to cross paths with drunken costars, irreverent unhoused action heroes, unpredictable directors, super agent, and power-mad moguls. Fame and fortune are not all they’re cracked up to be, and the two men must fight their way back to the things that matter the most.

FX’s A Murder at the End of the World Season 1 (November 14)

Synopsis: A Murder at the End of the World is a mystery series featuring a Gen Z amateur sleuth and tech-savvy hacker “Darby Hart.” Darby and eight other guests are invited by a reclusive billionaire to participate in a retreat at a remote location. When one of the other guests is found dead, Darby must use her skills to prove it was murder before the killer takes another life.

Obituary Season 1 (November 21)

Synopsis: 24-year-old Elvira Clancy adores her job writing obituaries, but lately, she’s been feeling unfulfilled. And when her newspaper falls on hard times, her boss tells her he is unable to keep her on the payroll. Overnight, she finds herself being paid per obituary. So, when she “accidentally” kills a rude person in the town, she discovers she might have some untapped bloodlust! She relishes using ever more crafty methods to kill off the town’s unpleasant residents — all while making them look like accidents. The Artful Dodger Season 1 (November 29)
